Gervonta Davis vs. Tenshin Nasukawa in April 2019

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

After fight, Davis' promoter - Floyd Mayweather - revealed that his boxer will travel to Japan in April to compete in an exhibition bout with kickboxing sensation Tenshin Nasukawa.

"We're talking about May [for Davis' next fight], if that's okay with him. He got an exhibition bout with the guy Tenshin in Japan, in April. He is fighting Tenshin in an exhibition match in Japan, in RIZIN. I'm proud of Tank. He is going to stay active. So first it's Tenshin in April and then in May it's the real fight," Mayweather said.

Jesus christ I thought you were trolling and you fake-quoted Mayweather. Then I search Tenshin's name and it's real. Absolutely pathetic.

What has Tenshin done to Mayweather? Did he steal some his elite watches for 20 millions or what?

From a commercial perspective, as well as gaining cross-over global exposure to MMA fans, this is an excellent manoeuvre for Gervonta Davis.

It's not a genuine sporting event though, but people will watch it. Believe me! This circus spectacle will have a massive global audience - obviously nowhere near as big as Floyd's sparring session a month or so ago, but big nonetheless.

The upside is that Tenshin Nasukawa receives another decent payday to play the role of the sacrificial lamb for a second time.

Dumbest thing ever. It does nothing for Davis other than perhaps a decent payday. I hope his people come to their senses and provide him more development for a lead up to a showdown with Loma.

A massive global audience.

Somehow I don't believe that the world will actually come to s standstill to view a Davis-Nasukawa exhibition.

How many on this planet are actually familiar with either?

Maybe the Japanese will swallow it, but as for the rest of the world.....

More people will watch this circus even than any other bout during 2019 that doesn’t involve a top-ten pound-for-pounder.

It’ll be one of the top-ten viewed sports combat fights of 2019.

If you're right, shouldn't it be on worldwide PPV? Promises of a massive global audience would guarantee that.

I couldn't find any live telecast of Mayweather-Nasukawa in the US. Pay or not.

And Mayweather is kind of a big name here.

The fact that Davis is still relatively anonymous, and Nasukawa displayed nothing against an old Mayweather, it's unlikely that this one will be visible anywhere outside Japan.

Mayweather is known in Japan. They will use his name to promote the fight.

I don't get how this sh*t benefits Tenshin's career or popularity, but whatever. Can't go any worse than the last exhibition for Tenshin I don't guess...as bad maybe, but no worse

They do. Japanese fight fans have a weird hunger for throwing their guys to the lions just to see if they can beat the seemingly insurmountable.

You'd see a lot of this kinda stuff in Pride FC. I remember a Pro Wrestler being matched with Gary Goodridge...taking a horrendous beating, and then being matched against him AGAIN!!!!

 They are an odd lot. IDK if I'd take a shoot match with a UFC fighter if I'm a pro wrestler. That's insane!

What was truly insane was him taking the rematch after the beating he took the 1st time

I mean this was like...what do you want? To see the guy die?

If it was a wrestling event, he may have not had a choice. Or...he's dumb as lint.

The Japanese audience figures will be huge.

The YouTube views will be big also.

A lot of people in the western world will watch this bout, even if it’s purely out of curiosity.

Let’s just wait and see if I’m proven wrong and you can boast as much as you like. :TU:

I’m confident that more people will somehow watch this bout than most of the other boxing contests scheduled for 2019.

Millions of people will watch this bout? Do you honestly believe people won’t? Are you suggesting only a few hundred thousand people will be interested?
