No one interested in rematches that Broner Lost

Post by psychod1986 »

Why because Broner would loss again,Porter,Maidana,Paquiao,& Garcia would defeat him again.Broner should accept the fact he won't ever be a elite fighter and need several tune up fights soon as possible.

The only tune up fights he should focus on are the ones that lead him to retirement.

If I’m AB’s manager, I’m sitting him for at least a year or maybe 2. The kids got balls because he takes anyone on but he’s still too naive or immature to realize WHY he continues to lose these fights.

He’s losing bc of his punch volume. His volume is low bc he is opting to counter punch for 90% of the rounds. He’s somewhat effective that way but it leads to too many lulls in his output. I didn’t like how often he was looking up at the clock so maybe it’s a conditioning thing. AB clearly has as good as anyone’s skills so then it just comes down to Brain, Heart and Conitioning. All 3 are costing this kid in a big way.

Sitting out will either get his head on straight or lead to more arrests. Either way, as his manager, I’d know at that point what he was all about.

The bolded points are his biggest issues. Probably more brain issue.

Didn't Broner sign a $50 million 5 fight contract with Mayweather Promotions last year?

There must be a lot of money left on the table so Broner isn't going to be sitting out very long.

Supposedly a fight with Thurman is in the future.

I'd still watch Broner vs Berto just for the hell of it. Or hell maybe Broner vs Victor Ortiz just to throw him in with someone he likely beats. I'm sure Danny Garcia or Thurman will want to fight him at some point just because he's still somewhat of a name, and a very beatable one at that.

I will say that aside from Canelo, Broner is the one that I want to see knocked out cold the most. Now before you call me insensitive, I’ve been knocked out cold before monthly from my brothers and look, I turned out to be just fine and intelligent enough.

Those are 2 of my favorite fighters. Although I am a little down on AB these days.

You want to see them knocked out.?Tough guys. You might have a loooong wait.

I'll say it---you're insensitive.

I wouldn't mind seeing Canelo lose a wide decision in a fight he was in all the way, now that would be poetic. The guy with the most help in the modern era getting shafted on points, shit. Almost brings a tear to the eye.

In all seriousness, Canelo is a great fighter, with or without dope, and if he happens to catch a banana in the tailpipe someday I'm sure it'll be signed Lara St. Golovkin.

One of the problems for AB is that he is a boring fighter who, no doubt, sees himself as exciting to watch.

I'll pass.

I enjoyed watching Broner-Maidana and would be interested in watching the replay, since there are unanswered questions relating to how much the Argentine has left in the tank.

This means the thread title is wrong. And I guess that’s inevitable when people wrongly and prematurely assume the thought process of all human beings without thinking things through. :TU:

Broner can box if he wants to, he just doesn't want to.
Most he can go full on is 6-9 rounds.

He can box for 12 rounds.

He just has a mental block about opening up and letting his hands go. Afraid to be caught with a big shot as happened against Maidana.

Some guys just get punch shy when they're hurt and dropped for the first time.

Many get over it. Some, like Camacho (who wasn't dropped but badly hurt by Rosario on several occasions) never recover mentally. They become safety-first fighters.

Broner appears to be one of those types.

He could benefit from sessions with a sports psychologist.

Someone alluded to the fact that the Maidana fight changed his perspective somewhat. The realisation, at that point perhaps, was that he was fallible and could be knocked out. He has since gone into a 'Floyd shell' minus the punch output.

i think broner was always like that, just that it became more noticable as the opponents got bigger and or better

i remember him not fighting for like the first 6 rounds vs ponce and giving away like 5 rounds vs pauline because he simpply wudnt throw

Maybe it's the other way. His low output isn't so much that he is afraid of being hit as much as a desire to make all of his punches perfect in terms of timing and accuracy, wasn't Mayweather pretty good at that?

I don't think it's a stretch to say that how he appears in the ring is important to him....just a thought. Who would have thought that THIS guy could be so complicated. :OhYes:

He isn't complicated. He is most effective coming forward but he yearns to be Floyd. The problem is he can't use Floyd's shoulder roll and counter off it. He's not an instinctual fighter. So he gets outworked playing defense and muxes in enough offensive moments to fool fans into thinking he's better than he is.

But Mayweather had a decent punch output.

Not overwhelming, but at least average.

And his accuracy was off the charts.

Floyd almost always landed more than his opponent. We were so bewitched by his defense than often we failed to note how effective he was offensively.

You can't say that about Broner.

Low output. Low connect numbers. That just won't get the job done against high ranking fighter.

I think the point is that Broner appears to want to be a Mayweather but it doesn't suit him. Hurts him more than helps him.

Thanks, yes I want to be very clear. In no way, would I ever compare Broner to Mayweather except to say that it appears at times that Broner would like to follow his successful blueprint in the ring and out of it.

But wanting to do something is not actually doing it, I understand that.
