Rate These Punchers: George Foreman, Carlos Zarate and Julian Jackson

Post by elmersalsa »

Who was the best puncher between the three? All great Punchers no doubt. To me, pound per pound, Julian "The Hawk" Jackson was the best puncher of my lifetime.

Jackson was perhaps P4P hardest puncher in boxing history.

No doubt it's foreman. Hearns punched harder than the other two.

Jackson was the best puncher ever. He has knocked out cold with a single punch so many guys.

Yup. Jackson was an amazing one shot Kayo artist.

You can exchange Shavers for Foreman, as I think the poster has a spread of weight classes on purpose. Shavers had one punch KO power; George was thudding and while he could put you into ga ga land with a single blow he was more of a bunch-of-punches ko artist.

Probably Foreman. They're all absolutely devastating punchers though.

Jackson could knockout somebody with an almost nothing shot, his power was freakish.

I voted GF. But I don't think there's any wrong answer here.

I guess George has the benefit of always being a heavyweight. The other two diminished a bit moving up one weight class. Obviously all all-time punchers. I'd rate olivares over Carlos.

P4P I'd say Jackson. He left so many fighters unconscious and shaking on the deck with one punch, incredible puncher.

Julian Jackson's highlight reel of his knockouts is unreal! What a puncher!

Carlos Zarate had a greater KO win streak than Jackson and George Foreman.

I'm biased toward Zarate. Always a big fan of one-half of the legendary "Z Boys." (Zamora made up the other half).

Zarate was probably the best technician of the three. His boxing prowess was always overlooked because of his tremendous power.

Actually Zamora may have been a harder puncher than Zarate. But Zarate was far more skilled. He knew where to hit.

I'll take Jackson over Foreman. I just think that Jackson was a guy who could put you to sleep with one punch.

Foreman could shake you to your bones with one shot. But then he would need to club you to death to get rid of you.

Would Frazier have risen 6 times if he was getting tagged with Jackson's P4P jolts?

I can't argue with any of that. Zamora was lightening, but Zarate was def better skilled. Jackson was all world one punch power and GF did it with multiple thudding shots for the most part.

That's the thing with rating Jackson, he'd be flat on his back against a fighter like Frazier. Thomas Tate took everything he had. I was a huge hawk fan, but on message boards it's a bit over the top.

Tate was a tough individual who was only knocked out once (RJJ). P4P Jackson was the arguably the hardest one shot kayo artist I ever saw.

LOL! You love Tommy! (me too) and yes you can argue him into the mix. The OP's post was hardly all inclusive. Missing a lot of bigger P4P punchers who I'd pick. I'd take Shavers over Foreman at HW, for instance.
