Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
Ok. So this fight is a possibility if Dominic Breazeale accepts terms for a April 20th PPV event on Sky.
How would you see this fight going?

Re: Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
Both cautious in the first 2 rounds followed by Breazeale putting on the pressure to wear Whyte down but getting hit a lot in the process. Slow middle rounds with Breaze taking more hits than he is giving and down on points. Whyte gets the TKO rd 9-11.
Re: Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
It's a crap shoot.
Brazeale hasn't had any top level action for a couple of years. He is bound to be rusty, and he beat Ungongu with a hail Mary.
Whyte, I don't rate much. He has been busy, he has been feeding around the B to C level. I think Whyte could win on points, but Brazeale has the power to finish Whyte at any point in the fight.
In other words, I have no idea
But I want to see it

Re: Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
Whyte would need to immediately put pressure on Breazeale or else he can get outboxed over the longer term, and that just isn't Whtye's M.O.. Breazeale is still such an unknown. His only test he was sparked by Joshua after being outpunched for 7 rounds. Nothing to be ashamed of, but the rest of his resume doesn't tell us much.

The fight is not going to happen in my opinion.
If it does Whyte wins by ko after 9 rounds

Breazeale should fight Povetkin.tiny_acres wrote: ↑04 Feb 2019, 22:31 The fight is not going to happen in my opinion.

Re: Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
Doubt Breazeale will take the risk at losing his mandatory slot.
He will more than likely just beat a couple of scrubs on PBC undercards whilst waiting for his WBC shot.
I can see these two fighting for the vacant WBC belt in 12-18 months after Haymon convinces the undisputed Champ (whoever that may be) to drop it.

Breazeale is perfect for Whyte imo.
Re: Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
Breazeale is tough to be fair. I think Whyte has a bit more speed and variety, though. Whyte on points.

Why for the interim title? Is Wilder going somewhere?

Re: Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
I was just watching the Mansour vs Breazeale fight. Breazeale really sucks! He got lucky as Mansour was winning every round, including a KD in round 3. Mansour bit his tongue bad enough to require a five hour surgery. That injury resulted in Mansour being unable to come out for round six. Mansour is a tough individual as he bit his tongue in the second round. Some say he bit it in half! ![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)

Breazdale proved he was pretty durable against AJ. I see it as an even fight but home advantage should see Whyte home.
Selling a rematch between the American and AJ would be even tougher than selling the Whyte one.
Saying that I don't think AJ wants to give Whyte a multi million pound payday.
How much has Whyte been earning?

Exactly my point. How do you have an interim title fight when the champ is staying busy? (rhetorical) Just more ABC bvllshvt.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑12 Feb 2019, 14:59Wilder is fighting fury, just typical org poo to take away mandatory talk and it helps promote it. In this case good, wilder should be busy this year in a perfect world.

I think because Breazeale already fought in a 'final eliminator' ?

Re: Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
I think it’s more to do with Wilder having a mandatory due (or will be due) but he has a reputable fight soon to be scheduled.
Whyte has fought so many good fights back to back and was messed about with the mandatory spot that it makes sense.

I thought he (Breazeale) is mandatory already. So again, what purpose is an interim, unless you are going to strip or looking for extra dough, or both.Pukka Cheese wrote: ↑12 Feb 2019, 15:11 I think because Breazeale already fought in a 'final eliminator' ?
Re: Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
would be fun and sloppy, imagine whyte beating breazeale too and still not getting a shot

He was bumped to #1 without facing Whyte in what would have been Whytes 5th defence of the silver belt. It's all utter corrupt bollocks.

Same as they did with charlo to preserve GGG/canelo.
Re: Dominic Breazeale v Dillian Whyte
the WBC: In order to provide activity to the heavyweight division and address the rights of Breazeale as mandatory challenger , the WBC is ordering a fight for the interim championship.
The WBC is hereby ordering Dominique Breazeale to fight WBC Silver champion Dillian Whyte for the WBC Interim Heavyweight championship.
What a crock of shvt. No need for the WBC Interim tag whatsoever.
