Former amateur star Abass Baraou will go up against gatekeeper Carlos Molina next weekend in Germany in just his 5th pro bout. Molina took former Olympians Josh Kelly and Souleymane Cissokho the full 10-round distance last year. After fighting several 10-rounders last year, Baraou is moving up to a 12-round bout for this one, contesting Molina for a minor belt.

Baraou won a clearcut but competitive 12-round unanimous decision over Molina, who clearly came to fight. Scores were 118-109, 115-112, 115-112. For some reason 1st round is missing from this video but 2-12 are all there. Not sure what Molina's point-deduction in 10th round was for, since I dont speak Turkish.

molina is past being that interesting of a test these days but still they are moving this guy ambitiously

The valuable thing about Carlos Molina is that he provides a good measuring stock for comparison with other up & coming prospects. It will be interesting to see whether or not Baraou can beat Molina as convincingly as Josh Kelly (lopsided 10-round decision last March) and Soulymane Cissokho (near-shutout 10-round decision last June).
