Fury always talks a lot of BS.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑17 Feb 2019, 11:52 Fury said that he floored Miller 6 or 7 times during their sparring in 2011 and sent him back home early.
It's not like he's ever been such a big megapuncher that I believe him, even if Miller was pretty much a professional novice at that time.
It figures that Fury is just trying to downgrade a Joshua opponent. And by extension, Joshua himself.

Miller will be punished. Remember this !
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jarrell Miller - June 1, 2019
That push will probably be Miller's most meaningful contact with AJ.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jarrell Miller - June 1, 2019
Very heated. Going to be a lot of animosity going into the ring. Whether Miller is just milking it for the cameras doesn’t matter, it’s not a game, he better live up to the fire he’s dispelling.

I thought the whole act was just that. Contrived. Hoping Miller gets squashed.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jarrell Miller - June 1, 2019
Unwatchable on several different levels. Miller was pathetic: a poor trash talker and is curiously unthreatening. Surely American heavyweights have realised that banging on about being from the streets and being tougher than the Brits is always seen as nothing but hot air. Wilder and Cunningham did it with Fury, Malik Scott with Chisora. They all get tooled.
I didn't realise Miller was THAT fat. I thought he was a huge guy that carried the weight well, but his massive arse is wider than his shoulders. He has the physique of a dinner lady.
There is more than an element of pantomime to it all, but Joshua is certainly a nasty guy in the ring and everything Miller says or does at this point will come back to haunt him. I foresee a painful beatdown.

He will make sure to keep Joshua motivated for the fight with his mouth like fellow Americans Martin and Breazeale did
. It is a bit annoying though. They don't have the personalities that Fury and Wilder do.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jarrell Miller - June 1, 2019
Anyway...credit to Eddie Hearn. He’s made AJ the hero archetype and most likely AJ will also look good in the ring. I’ve been high on Miller tbh, I look beyond his stubborn rolls and billowing ass cheeks. I think he has skill and smarts. AJ has however improved and has tremendous power.
I hope Miller lives up to his current aggression but even with good stamina/pacing and smart inside pressure (Miller qualities) I think you need more to beat AJ.

Just watched this fiasco again and I gotta tell you, I think AJ is going to beat the lard out of Miller's ass. I can see him now, with a smile and his tongue sticking out as he beats a crouched over Miller mercifully. It'll be the first time I'm rooting for Joshua.

It looks more like WWE "sports entertainment" wrestling than a real sport.

Yep, that’s the point. It is what the American public love and pay for

Miller talks the talk way better than Wilder. With Wilder, it's just parroting key phrases and shouting. With Miller, I have no idea what he is on aboutThe Asleep Lamps wrote: ↑19 Feb 2019, 19:05 He will make sure to keep Joshua motivated for the fight with his mouth like fellow Americans Martin and Breazeale did. Turns out that Miller did quite well for himself at the negotiating table, too. Multiple sources have confirmed to BS.com that Miller’s total compensation package for fighting Joshua on June 1 is approximately $6.5 million.
Works out around £5m.. which is what Whyte wanted..

According to Miller, he still was the opponent of choice of executives for DAZN, which will stream their 12-round title fight live.
“So anyway, I wanted more money than Dillian Whyte was getting,” Miller said. “DAZN felt like it was a fight that needed to happen, so they came up with the rest of the money, on top of what AJ was offering. So I got basically close to what I wanted. Plus, I got [a percentage of revenue from] pay-per-view buys in the UK, over a certain amount. And the rematch is gonna be substantially a lot better, a lot bigger.
“But I had to still give up more than I wanted to because AJ doesn’t have that confidence in himself. He always feels like he can lose at any point, which is understandable. So, he’s trying to negotiate his next fight after that, if he loses, in a rematch. So that’s the kind of mentality, the type of person he is.”

Miller makes Wilder look like Steven Fry. The Americans just can’t do it like the Brits. Guys like Whyte, Chisora and Fury are all arguably naturally funny guys. Squeaking “Fish and chips! Cup of tea!” Over somebody talking is beyond embarrassing. I had to turn it off.KiwiRider wrote: ↑20 Feb 2019, 02:54Miller talks the talk way better than Wilder. but it is tweaking AJ's humble cloaking.

"Fish and chips, tea and crumpets
"
That's all I ever hear when Yanks insult Brits. At least the French, Irish have good insults. All American's can do is shout food items (not surprising, those American's love food above all else)
Anyways, I'd take fish and chips as a complement. A nice, big piece of Westcliffe cod, some Leigh-on-sea cockles. Thick chips with vinegar. Mushy peas fornicate if someone called me that I'd think they're coming on to me. Also, crumpets are fornicating amazing mate
I guess the comeback would be "some fried sh1t covered in sugar and salt"

All good stuff. When you think where boxing was in the aftermath of the Pacquiao / Mayweather disillusionment, and where it is now, you have to give full credit to both Joshua and Hearn for the resurrection of the sport.
Phenomenal achievement. Simply phenomenal.
