Joshua wants Luis Ortiz if Fury or Wilder won’t fight him
Joshua wants Luis Ortiz if Fury or Wilder won’t fight him
Anthony Joshua states that if he can’t get fights against Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury, after he defeats Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller, then he’s going to go after the highly ranked, well-respected #3 WBC Luis ‘King Kong’ Ortiz (30-1, 26 KOs) for his next fight. Joshua will be defending against Miller on June 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The fight is already considered a win for Joshua, and he’s looking at the heavyweight landscape for his next fight.
I'd watch that! Let's see if AJ fans mock this due to Ortiz' age or health like they did with Wilder.

ya and on the flip side lets see if aj detractors suddenly start downplaying ort based his age like they did with other aj opponents, even though theyve been saying aj should fight ort instead of what hes been fighting
either way, if it happens aj just keeps on fighting top 10 opponents, lol look at the depth hed have in 5 years pro, lol ya hes been pampered

I still think it's a tough fight. And if AJ dispatches him in any kind of quick fashion, I'll be the first to say he's the best HW out there today. (Ok, I already think that). His resume is far and above everyone else's at this time.
Re: Joshua wants Luis Ortiz if Fury or Wilder won’t fight him
Why not ? Ortiz is still # 4-7 HW. I would like to see this match.
Re: Joshua wants Luis Ortiz if Fury or Wilder won’t fight him
i mean if its not fury or wilder next then orts about as good as it will get beyond guys ajs already beaten, who else?
ort, pulev, then maybe like rivas or something?
not to say he couldnt rematch whyte

Think AJ beats him comfortably in a few rounds. Anyway, we need to see wilder or fury.

Ortiz looked lousy, slow against mediocre Kauffman.
Wilder took the fight out of him and Joshua knows it.

Well, I'm a big Joshua fan, but before his last fight wilder or bust turned into blub tubs, now we're starting at Ortiz whom he could be fighting instead of the powder puff blob?

Its a bizarre case that AJ seems to take a lot of unnecessary flak with who's he fought since turning pro.. I really hope he does fight ortiz but like you said if AJ were to win that all of a sudden Ortiz will be an over the hill drug taking inactive fighter

Re: Joshua wants Luis Ortiz if Fury or Wilder won’t fight him
The article in the first post in this thread is utter nonsense. AJ would be forced to faced mandatory challengers prior to considering facing Luis Ortiz.
Also, Ortiz is PBC, whereas AJ is DAZN.
Ortiz brings no money to the table, whereas Joshua brings lots.

"Utter nonsense." LOL! Why did you change your name to Eolaithe?
Re: Joshua wants Luis Ortiz if Fury or Wilder won’t fight him
If AJ has mandatory challengers, why would Luis Ortiz be ahead of them in the title shot queue? The Brit has very little flexibility for voluntary title defences (bearing in mind he owns three world titles).
Re: Joshua wants Luis Ortiz if Fury or Wilder won’t fight him
Please! Mandatory's are pushed aside all the time. He has all the flexibility he wants. To call the article "utter nonsense" is ignorant at best and highly pompous at worst.Eolaithe wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 21:29If AJ has mandatory challengers, why would Luis Ortiz be ahead of them in the title shot queue? Re: Joshua wants Luis Ortiz if Fury or Wilder won’t fight him
I wouldn't mind Joshua vs Luis Ortiz, but obviously would rather see the Big 3 mix it up. Ortiz is definitely the #4 guy at the moment though so he's a good choice.
Re: Joshua wants Luis Ortiz if Fury or Wilder won’t fight him
Joe Joyce is only 8-0! Not done anything to deserve or appear ready for a shot at AJ.Cojimar 1946 wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 18:38 How about the following opponents?

Be nice to see him clear up the British scene by fighting likes of Dubois and Hughie Fury, Then earn a shot by beating guys like Whyte, Pulev and/or Povetkin
