Tate/Weaver and Castro/Jackson are the first that come to mind.
Re: Boxing turnarounds!
Herol ‘Bomber’ Graham's KO loss to Julian ‘The Hawk’ Jackson
James 'Lights Out' Toney's dramatic fourth round KO over Tim Littles.
Julio Cesar Chavez's last-second KO victory over Meldrick Taylor.

Re: Boxing turnarounds!
The ref and the doctor threatened to stop the fight because of a bad cut. They said they'd only allow Toney to compete for one more round, which is all James needed to force the stoppage.
Also, Julio Cesar Chavez's last-second KO victory over Meldrick Taylor.

Surely a post like this belongs in the history section. Isn't that your mo for these threads? You're slipping verlichte, eo would never let a thread like this go without whining.

George Foreman vs. Michael Moorer.
Juan Manuel Marquez KO 6 vs. Manny Pacquiao (after a tricky start for the PacMan, the Filipino had gained the winning momentum of the fight, with the Mexican appearing to struggle).

Thanks I've just checked that fight now. I can see Toney was desperate to get it done. It's great reminder of seeing Toney, quick and in shape.Eolaithe wrote: ↑25 Feb 2019, 09:37The ref and the doctor threatened to stop the fight because of a bad cut. Tate Weaver was the one that came to my mind first. I was in England when that fight happened. I was literally screaming when that hook put Tate down.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑25 Feb 2019, 09:29 Tate/Weaver and Castro/Jackson are the first that come to mind.
Re: Boxing turnarounds!
More recent: Mickey Bey vs John Molina. Feel bad for Mickey for losing it in last minute because he dominated the whole fight. But faces of that TBE idiots in crowd was priceless

fairly recently rolando chinea was beating up on thomas mattice and then one or two rounds left gets caught and stopped
Re: Boxing turnarounds!
I thought this OP meant career wise. Mike Weaver is in that category too. He had Holmes in trouble and had a version of the title. Before that, he managed to lose to both Bobicks and even worse.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑25 Feb 2019, 09:29 Tate/Weaver and Castro/Jackson are the first that come to mind.

I did Mr. Sunshine. My first sentence addressed reading the subject heading. I didn't think that would need to be explained, but I was wrong.
Re: Boxing turnarounds!
Toney officially won the fight 117-109 x 2 and 116-110. James didn't even need to drop Jirov in the final round to win that contest.
HBO's scorecards don't count and neither do our own. Most fight fans thought Toney won, he didn't have to "turn" things "on it's head."
As a getle reminder, here's what the topic of this thread is really about:

Re: Boxing turnarounds!
Wasn't Joe Mesi winning a decision against a Eastern European fighter, only to get knocked down and almost out in the last round? Injury so severe he had to retire.

While you're addressing the topic, why not cease ignoring the irrefutable fact that you obsessively cry for mods to move topics like this yet you're partaking in this one. Why the massive display of hypocrisy so?Eolaithe wrote: ↑25 Feb 2019, 13:38Toney officially won the fight 117-109 x 2 and 116-110. Please review your "getle" reminder then, because Toney was ahead on the cards against Tim Littles and had him badly hurt at the end of the third.
Re: Boxing turnarounds!
Yup, but can't remember the guy's name. Messi did come back, but only briefly and without any huge success.

Re: Boxing turnarounds!
Mesi beat Jirov by a close UD but Jirov dropped him and repeatedly hit to the back of the head. I watched the fight back when it happened but haven't seen it since so me memory is a little foggy. At least one of the knockdowns was from a rabbit punch but I don't remember if they all were. Effectively ended Mesi's career.
Re: Boxing turnarounds!
im still amazed mesi made it to the final bell, he looked totally done and not right
