I have to admit that based on the rest of the division, as a top 5 contender (no. 2 on BoxRec) I can no longer argue that Eubank is world class at this weight. More about the weakness of the division than Eubanks skill set, IMHO. So let's see if you are humble or a complete arse about it.

I've already conceded the possibility that the 168lbs weight division is lacking talent. I also admit that Eubank Jr. hasn’t really achieved enough to be considered as being an elite-level fighter. The Brit also has a lot of flaws, mostly psychological.

However, Chris Eubank Jr. is a top-five world-rated super-middleweight. That’s a fact. He’s technically “world-class.”

It doesn’t matter if we don’t like him and we’d prefer him not to be “world-class”, because the objective truth of reality is that he really is a “world-class” fighter. It is what it is - we can't change something that is out of our control.

The thing is… being a top-five “world-rated” super-middleweight, is currently about as prestigious as being ranked amongst the top-five premature éjácúlátórs on the planet. It’s something that some people may be proud of, whilst others would prefer to keep quiet about possessing such a dubious status.

Apparently, Chris Eubank Jr. has flown to the US (using a one-way ticket) to be mentored by Virgil Hunter, with a view for the American veteran to potentially become his new trainer.

He hasn't taken any members of his entourage or current team with him and there are no imminent plans for him to return to the UK within the next few months either.

Chris claims he was in contact with Virgil a year ago and it was only Hunter’s health problems that prevented them from hooking up earlier.

Eubank was very complimentary of his current trainer, Nate Vasquez, and he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of continuing his working relationship with him.

The media have claimed that potential future opponents for Eubank Jr. include: the winner of Benavidez- Dirrell; Caleb Plant; Peter Quillin; and Caleb Truax.

Callum Smith is a very unlikely opponent, because they are aligned with rival networks/boxing content providers.

He is certainly in the World Title picture and over the last 3/4 decade or so iv seen some Fighters become World Champion with less ability then Eubank Jr...……..World Class YES is he a Legit P4P Calibre of Fighter well the Jury still out on that but if he wins either of the WBC/WBA/WBO/IBF World Title he will be ranked in the bottom half of the P4P Ranks I hope he wins a Legit World Title

"Nate Vasquez SLAMS Chris Eubank Jr for Virgil Hunter switch"

CHRIS EUBANK JR’s former trainer Nate Vasquez has slammed the middleweight boxer for going to train with Virgil Hunter.

Eubank Jr had never employed a full-time trainer before his points win over rival James DeGale in February.

But Vasquez was brought into to help Eubank Jr on some of the fundamentals that many felt he’d lacked in pervious fights.

Eubank Jr arguably looked the best he’s ever looked inside a ring, and many complimented the work of Vasquez.

But the trainer hasn’t been in contact with Eubank Jr since the fight and has since found out that the 29-year-old was training with Hunter in California.

"I don't know if jumping trainers will help him," Vasquez told Sky Sports.

"You can't learn if you're jumping trainers from time to time. If you go from trainer to trainer to trainer, it's not good.

"I got the best win of his career with him. I'm not mad at him if he goes to another trainer.

"I don't think Chris Jr will do a training camp in California without any of his people there.

“And I don't think Virgil Hunter will leave California.

"Chris wants to be a boxer but he needs a lot of work on his footwork, and his style isn't meant to be a boxer like Roy Jones Jr or Andre Ward.

“Some styles can't change and, if he changed, it wouldn't suit him.

"My main purpose was to work on his defence, his jab and to get him to throw combos.

“You don't want to change anybody too much. Chris is a pressure fighter and if you change him into a boxer it won't go well for him."

Eubank Jr spoke about his casual training sessions with legendary trainer Hunter, noting that nothing was permanent.

The Brightonian didn’t mention Vasquez, however, leaving many to assume the two have gone their separate ways.

“I’ve seen what Virgil has done over the years, but I wanted to see it up close in person and work with him a little bit, just to see how it is,” Eubank Jr said.

”It’s just exploring, Virgil’s not my new trainer. I’m just having a little dabble.

”It absolutely could turn into something, but you can never tell how life is going to turn out.”
