I like Wood he's a tidy boxer, I heard Hearn mention this his first shot at a major title, obviously forgetting about his British title fight with Gavin McDonnell down at Super Bantam, Wood was doing well in that fight before McDonnell got on top of him after the middle rounds and stopped him, he's picked up 8 wins since then, mostly journeymen but he sandwiched in is a very good points win over Wale albeit in 2014, Wale's went on to good things since then so credible win for Wood that

McDonnell dropped him in the 1st and stopped him in the 6th round. Leigh had a decent 2 or 3 sessions but was well beaten. Shouldn't have been at that weight, he's too big.

Total mismatch as expected, Bonsu offered nothing but Wood did look good in all fairness, glad to see he never fvcked about in ending things, he looked sharp, his jab looked strong and he mixed his shots up nicely, he was relaxed even after putting Bonsu down for the first time he never got carried away and broke him down with bodyshots from both hands, both knockdowns seemed to be from accumulative body shots, Wood looked strong in there and was punching with spite, Bonsu was gash

Leigh Wood is a super tidy boxer who is now at a more natural weight. He just needs another break or two now and hopefully he’ll properly fulfill his potential.

At 30 years old, I hope the opportunities come soon for him.
