Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
Lot of bettors favoring the younger Castano.
Lara opened a -250 favorite.
Tonight, those odds have dropped quickly to just -160.
Are gamblers impressed with Castano or is there a feeling that the nearly 36 year old Lara may have little left in the tank? Especially after he faded late versus Hurd.

i have followed castano for a while and i have always rated him well. he had some real good amateru wins too over spence. derevchanko (only gut to beat him in wsb) etc. plus it goes hand in hand with lara getting up there and just taking a lot of damage.
not sure castano wins but i think hes really got a shot

I don't like Lara's age, his late fade against Hurd and his nearly one year of inactivity.
His game is slickness. But you wonder if it's still there. Are his legs shot? Too many factors going against him.
Castano is a very very live dog.

Why are you now talking about age? You’re all over the shop today!SenorPipino wrote: ↑02 Mar 2019, 21:18 I don't like Lara's age, his late fade against Hurd and his nearly one year of inactivity.

Nevertheless I agree lol. Know nothing about his opponent so have picked Lara.

Castano has a great chance here.

I felt like Lara was slipping since the Gausha fight. He wasnt as mobile against Hurd because hes slower now and had to fight more in the trenches which just isn't him. Castano has a very good chance to upset the party.
Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
He's a pretty complete fighter who can turn up the heat. As a previous poster mentioned, has good wins as an amateur and can make Lara look his age.

I did say elsewhere that every fighter ages differently.lazboy wrote: ↑02 Mar 2019, 21:33Why are you now talking about age? You’re all over the shop today!SenorPipino wrote: ↑02 Mar 2019, 21:18 I don't like Lara's age, his late fade against Hurd and his nearly one year of inactivity.

Castano is a very very live dog.
And slick, reflex boxers like Lara do tend to age earlier. Although it's not that early for Lara at nearly 36.
It's the punchers who usually stay younger longer.
So in this case, I feel it's possible that Lara is on a quick, downward slide. Ripe to be taken by a solid fighter who's relatively unknown.
But we'll see in a few hours.

Good 2nd round in the Ortiz v Hammer fight.
Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
ortiz got hurt to the head and then hamm got hurt to body
Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
its a surpringly fun fight but they both look pretty sloppy
Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
End of the 5th, both bleeding on the face but they're also showing a lot of contempt for each others power.
Ortiz up comfortably on the card so far.

ortiz is winning but hes ragged and now bleeding pretty bad from his mouth and nose
Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
Ortiz easily took the 7th on the jab alone.
Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
Light on action through rounds 8 and 9, Ortiz still way ahead on the card.
Hammer offering little but the occasional punch, scored with a decent shot at the end of 9 but that's it.

Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
Ortiz scored with some decent body shots in the 10th and final round, he should have this wrapped up on the scorecards.

Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
Noticeable size difference - imagine Castano fighting Hurd. It will be a constant battle for him to close the distance.
Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
Rd 2 to I'd edge to Castano. Lara far more stationary, much like he was with Hurd. Not a good sign.
Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
r3 to Castano - hes having a far easier time closing in on the semi stationary Lara. He seems compact and strong. Good start from him.
Re: Brian Castano vs. Erislandy Lara - March 2, 2019
He's on Lara like a rash.
