Hey guys
There's a massive amount of fight data available on boxrec, and coming from a baseball background I've been interested in building a historical elo model. There doesn't seem to be any export feature for data on the site -- does anybody have an available CSV? Is there somebody one should reach out to if they're looking for this data? I'm looking for as much information as possible from all basic fighter details including height, reach, birthdate, etc to bout details including location and judges.

sorry but I am sure you understand that we don't give away our hard worked for data. We tried the ELO algorithm almost 20 years ago and it fails miserably for boxing. The current algorithm can be found here http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/BoxRe ... escription

Thanks -- I figured it was worth asking. I assume it had to do with sample size and so on. Is there any text about why Elo particularly failed? Whether modifiers like location, judging history, ABC rankings, etc didn't help and so on.John wrote: ↑04 Mar 2019, 12:50 sorry but I am sure you understand that we don't give away our hard worked for data. Boxing is a much more complex competition, chess is a very simple, just a purely intellectual component there is no physical element to it.
