Klitchko considers HUGE DAZN Deal

Post by oogiebe »

Former world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is mulling over an eight-figure offer from DAZN to end his retirement. Under the terms of the deal, Klitschko would fight three times before taking over a position as DAZN Ambassador.
Klitschko would then join the likes of Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. in affiliating himself long-term with the streaming service.

The package includes rematches with AJ (with a rematch clause were Wlad to win) and Fury and is said to be in the 8 digit area (Said to be around $40 million). Also includes revenue sharing moving forward. While we've heard rumors similar, this seems to be heating up. I'd rather not see it, TBH.

After the Joshua fight I would have picked him to beat Wilder. I wonder if the time off have served him to rest or if its too late now. Kinda like with Ortiz I would keep him away from Fury if they are planning for this comeback to last at least for a couple more fights. It would make sense for Wilder to face him being the only one of the 2 without a win over the man...

Apparently, Wilder is not in the cards, and I'm not surprised, as he's the hardest hitting HW out there today. I have no idea what Wlad is thinking, but sounds like he sees something, or at least thinks he does that makes him believe he has a shot at both AJ and Fury. I hope he comes to his senses and stays retired, to be frank.

Fury pussied out of Wlad rematch two time by getting himself fat. He knew wlad won't stay around that long.
If they fight, wlad will be 44 and i don't want to see this fight with fury not at all.

That terrible thing that makes it so difficult to let go. I never accomplished anything worth bragging about as a boxer and I still find myself back in the gym hitting the bag and thinking I can still do some stuff. I cant even imagine how tuff it is for those who did so great.

Agreed. It's chasing the high, with a little bit of denial sprinkled in.

Another week, another round of comeback rumors involving Wlad.

The guy should just bow out gracefully. At his age, coupled with limited activity over the past 4 years, success wouldn't appear to be in the cards.

..sheer numbers are astronomical...difficult to resist the temptation..do I really want to see 44 year old in the ring? I don't think so...

The website fails to disclose both the author who wrote these claims and also the sources for the rumour that is being perpetuated.

It’s also interesting to note that the third-fight in the alleged contract is the Fury-Klitschko rematch, but in reality DAZN cannot possibly promise to orchestrate this bout for Wladimir, since Tyson is tied to ESPN and Top Rank.

And these three important points compel me to question the authenticity of the claims being made.

Of course, this rumour could end up being true, because even a broken clock is right twice a day, but I strongly suspect that this is just fake news.

If this rumour is true, then I’d be deeply disappointed to see Wladimir tarnish his legacy, because I can see nothing good about the prospect of his ring return.

Yes and when you think of the money DAZN are offering....

They're definitely going all in, gambling the lot. They need the biggest names, and will want to pull all strings if Wlad signs.

Think it over Wladimir - and then sign.
The risk/ money percentage is too good. Hell, some people are taking bigger risks just driving to work everyday.
