I'd like to see him in with Buatsi and Johnson before he goes near the likes of Kovalev or any of the other title holders. Buatsi beats him for me.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Travis Reeves - 8 March 2019
the commonwealth title is a joke these days, look at some of the fights guys are winning it in, of coure he could win it
as for the british, hos burton won it vs miles shinkwin, of course yarde would smash that level of opposition. then bugs won it despite not being good enough to last 6 rounds vs likes of fanlong meng or 1 round with johnson
and as for euro,.....he already smashed a guy who had drawn for the euro in his previous fight, which gets overlooked. same guy went 12 with callum smith no problem. and he beat reeves far more easily and faster then recent euro champ karo murat did. and murat beat the current euro champ. so lets get real.
the real question is about yarde at world level. there is pretty good depth on the lhw world stage these days. several guys with pretty good skills who can also hit. i think it would be real tough for him. he could do with some better fights first. imo the most beatable is beterbiev, who is crude and open and not showing an iron chin

They seem to be side stepping domestic LHW's. We will see how Buatsi does with Conroy later this month as they go for Callum's vacated British. How does a bloke from Ghana go for a Bwitish anywaydr_devious wrote: ↑10 Mar 2019, 13:29 I'd like to see him in with Buatsi and Johnson before he goes near the likes of Kovalev or any of the other title holders. I get what your saying, and his level opposition is far more a negative than a positive.
That being said, you also have to take into account the fighter and what he has in the locker. Some have the right skills, and the right head on his shoulders to execute. Does Yarde have all those things? Remains to be seen, but he could do...
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Travis Reeves - 8 March 2019
He might well do, hasn't put a foot wrong yet and has looked great. But doubtful that he has fought anyone good enough to be British champ yet.Rob3_142 wrote: ↑10 Mar 2019, 16:42I get what your saying, and his level opposition is far more a negative than a positive.

Lewis Ritson looked a million dollars as British champion but was short at Euro level, imagine if he was stuck in with PBF instead!
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Travis Reeves - 8 March 2019
nonsense.
these days you got guys becoming brit champ by beating miles shinkwin. and bugs couldnt win more then a round vs fanlon meng or last 1 full round vs johnson. its just reaching to act like hes somehow totally not even proven hes up to snuff at the levels that these guys have won at
you do know yarde destroyed a guy who drew for the euro right before too? and the guy he just battered gave a very good 12 round fight to recent euro champ karo murat. who in turn beat the current euro champ.
as i said, the question about yardes at world level. im not sure hes there, its a good division at the high levels

Only just watched the card, the dark haired lass doing the fighter interviews is my cousin. I thought she was working for ESPN so surprised to see her there. I may try to wangle a ticket next time

I just sent a message, apparently freelancing at the moment. Ta mate. I do not really talk to that branch of the family since grandparents went into old folks homes. She did good work though

Sorry mate. She works or worked for ESPN for years. Did much of their London 2012 coverage for example but apparently is freelancing for BT Sport with a view to a permanent gig.
I actually watched a couple of the interviews on BT youtube channel without noticing it was her as I was listening while cooking and not actually watching.

Do you not really talk to her much? I can't help but think would come up over Christmas dinner.tobyh5 wrote: ↑12 Mar 2019, 15:00Sorry mate. She works or worked for ESPN for years. By the way, she's absolutely smokin' (apologies for the imagery).

maybe give her one of tobys thongs to try on

I talk to her mum more frequently as she helped look after my grandparents (her aunts) a lot as they got old and dementia and Alzheimer's kicked in and I live 300 miles away, and as she lives five minutes away, would constantly be helping out. Great branch of the family. If she continues with the BT Sport and boxing coverage, I will make more effort!Rob3_142 wrote: ↑12 Mar 2019, 18:15Do you not really talk to her much?
