I thought Brook was doing well for the initial 5 rounds, won't be surprised if Mikey Garcia gets SD or a draw !
Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Mikey Garcia - 16 March 2019
9 months is all right? But his last fight was so brief that it still seems like a while because you didn't see much of him.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Mikey Garcia - 16 March 2019
June. And that was 1 round.
Fought Peterson in Jan, he was on his way to 3 fights in a year.. then June was good.. could have easily fought again in October seeing as his last fight was 1 round and then fought Garcia in March.
Struggled to find opponents is bullshît. PBC have tons of WW’s..
Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Mikey Garcia - 16 March 2019
tbf though, if you read what these other pbc guys say its blatant they didnt want none of spence. im surprised by how unmasked it was

Anyone recording this, set the timer for a good few hours after the broadcast. I have been stung couple of times by ITV.

Buzzing for this one, cant believe we're getting it free, think i'll stay up for it actually, both guys are 2 of my favs to watch, would probably like to see Garcia win more for daring to be great, not been many 5 weight world champs, think I'm right in saying that Mayweather's the only one to achieve it whilst still undefeated
Truth be told i think Spence is gonna be too big and strong for Garcia and will eventually break him down, Spence is a massive Welterweight and looks excellent at the weight and pretty much perfect in his performances, i thought Garcia looked a bit flat against Lipinets when he won his world title at 140 and he took some clean shots late on, he did box well against Broner at 147 but Broner allows guys to do as they please, i just prefer Garcia at Lightweight but massive kudos for taking this fight, not very often you seen guys willing to step up like this, he has no right to be fighting Spence but as i said he's daring to be great,, he's not fvcked about since coming back, world title in another 2 divisions and a unification against Easter Jr last time and now a potential 5th title
Garcia looks slower at the higher weight and Spence is quick to the punch, i think he hits too hard and Garcia is not gonna be able to avoid them all night, i reckon Spence wins in around 9
Would love to see a Mosley/De La Hoya 1 or Pacquiao/De La Hoya type scenario here but Spence too fresh to allow Garcia to make it through IMO

lol the undercards trash
Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Mikey Garcia - 16 March 2019
I rate Spence but am not completely sold on him yet. He has looked fantastic in his fights, won them all and the quality has been "ok" but nothing special. His best win is the hugely overrated Brook.
But he has won with style so I can certainly believe he may go on to be special but I cannot rate someone near the top of a p4p list when they have only won three world title fights, and none of them being great competition.

Mostly local boxers.. probably trying to up the ticket sales.
Here’s a chart
https://seatgeek.com/errol-spence-jr-vs ... pm/4638366
I don’t think they’ve even opened the highest tier. Ringside are $750 and cheapest I think are $100.. they should have just packed a decent capacity arena.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Mikey Garcia - 16 March 2019
Several notable fighters were asked for their opinions on the contest, and it was no surprise that almost all of them were backing Spence for victory.
The general feeling among most, is that Garcia is undersized and many expect Spence to overpower him in the fight.
WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder - Both of them are my guys, but I'm leaning a little bit more to Errol Spence. Although Mikey Garcia has the skill and will to win, I have to go with Spence.
Former two division champion Danny Garcia - Mikey is a good fighter, but I think he's biting off more than he can chew by going up two weight classes.
WBC junior middleweight champion Tony Harrison - Errol Spence is too big, too physical, it's just his time. I just think it's his time, he's floating high. No stoppage either way, but I think Errol gets the job done. He's too big and too strong.
Welterweight contender Yordenis Ugas - Spence has the same level of talent but he is much stronger and bigger.
WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman - I love Mikey Garcia, I love everything that he brings into the ring. I definitely think that, in his experience in moving up in weight he's never really fought a true welterweight and he doesn't really know what it means to compete with the upper echelon level at 147. I think he's going to run into a brick wall named Errol Spence Jr.

The gameness & bottle mikeys showing is brilliant
some have been calling it stupid, but in an era where there's so so much bulls**t in boxing, fighters afraid of real challenges, this is very refreshing & shows a true fighters heart
I do think he's gonna get beat, but it's good to have a legitimate challenge to watch rather than some of the pitty patty s**t put about these days & ridiculous worthless belts

Couldn't agree more the numbers aren't in Mikey's favour:Oiky wrote: ↑12 Mar 2019, 07:24 The gameness & bottle mikeys showing is brilliantsome have been calling it stupid, but in an era where there's so so much bulls**t in boxing, fighters afraid of real challenges, this is very refreshing & shows a true fighters heart

I'm guessing Spence walks around at 180lb when fully hydrated vs Garcia walking around at 150-160lb
that alone should ring alarm bells - hope Garcia can weasel through a decision !

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Mikey Garcia - 16 March 2019
In the same boat as many above. Be great if Mikey can pull off the huge upset, but logic says a great big man beats a great small man.
I like both guys though. As good as a win for Mikey would be, and propel him to greatness, it would probably be really destructive for Spence, for the immediate future anyway. Unless Garcia was to go on and campaign successfully around the welterweight scene and Spence bounces back with more wins....
If Mikey loses but puts in a good showing, he'd gain loads of credit, and that would probably be about the best outcome he can hope for.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Mikey Garcia - 16 March 2019
Errol Spence Jr. and Mikey Garcia made weight Friday afternoon for their 12-round, 147-pound title fight Saturday night at AT&T Stadium. The 29-year-old Spence, of DeSoto, Texas, stepped on his state commission’s scale at 146¼ pounds, slightly more than Garcia.
The 31-year-old Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs), of Moreno Valley, California, officially weighed in at a career-high 145 pounds. Neither Spence nor Garcia can weigh more than 157 pounds – 10 above the welterweight limit – at the IBF’s second-day weigh-in, scheduled for Saturday morning in Dallas.
Those close to Spence expect the IBF welterweight champion to weigh at least 165 pounds when he enters the ring late Saturday night for their FOX Sports Pay-Per-View main event. The 5-feet-6 Garcia, who’s four inches shorter than Spence (24-0, 21 KOs), said during a press conference Wednesday that he’ll weigh 150 pounds once he encounters the strong southpaw.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Mikey Garcia - 16 March 2019
Appropriate that Duran was holding the belt. This fight has a real old school feel about it. Both are throwbacks of sorts. The no nonsense Spence Jr - does nothing too flashy but is a great all round fighter and reminds me of Hagler. Then Garcia; in this modern boxing world of being risk averse and having multiple belts and easier options to choose from he moves up two divisions to take on possibly the guy no-one wants to fight. Balls of steel: something a Duran would do.
I still favour Spence but I'm pumped for this one.

Quality fight this, can't see anyone getting stopped, top fighters rarely do get ko'd.
