HW Ranking Changes: Kuzmin; Ajagba
HW Ranking Changes: Kuzmin; Ajagba
Sergey Kuzmin drops from 14 - 18 on BoxRec after his razer thin win vs Joey Dawjeko.
Efe Ajagba rises from 41 - 27 after his 2 round demolition of Amir Mansaur.
Dawjeko rises to number 100.
I had posted last evening wondering if Kuzmin would actually drop after such a terrible performance and he did. Love BoxRec.

I agree. Rankings can only be based on what fighters have already DONE!! Although Kuzmin would be a very risky step up for Ajagba right now, I would actually have Efe as a slight favorite over the more-experienced Russian prospect if they fought today!!tiny_acres wrote: ↑11 Mar 2019, 13:35At this time it appears to be about right.
Even though I'd pick Efe over several of those rated above him if they were to fight now
Re: HW Ranking Changes: Kuzmin; Ajagba
efe would pound him i think
Re: HW Ranking Changes: Kuzmin; Ajagba (CORRECTED)
In light of this last fight (no offense to Dawjeko who was his toughass self!) I can't see Kuzmin's handlers wanting to go anywhere near Ajagba at this time.Best Coast wrote: ↑11 Mar 2019, 18:44I agree. Rankings can only be based on what fighters have already DONE!! It has to be off of what they've accomplished.
Hopefully soon Efe can get a better test and prove his worth

Re: HW Ranking Changes: Kuzmin; Ajagba
Looking at the listings there are so many undefeated guys who I've never seen (not that I can recall anyway) or heard of and who never seem to get a mention in boxing talk. Anyone got any ideas about these guys below?
Adam Kownacki - 19-0
Oscar Rivas - 26-0
Tom Schwarz - 24-0
Otto Wallin - 20-0
Sergey Kuzmin - 15-0
Or is it a case that they are purely feeding on cans and won't really do much once they step up in class?
*Update* Looking at some of their recent match ups / events I recall Kuzmin against Price when he had to pull out. Don't recall if Kuzmin was impressive or not though.

you're probably the only person on here who never seen Kownacki. watch his demolition of Szpilka and Washington, Kownacki vs Martin was entertaining tooFightnight Scores wrote: ↑13 Mar 2019, 09:10 Looking at the listings there are so many undefeated guys who I've never seen (not that I can recall anyway) or heard of and who never seem to get a mention in boxing talk. I saw the Thurman/Lopez card and Garcia/Porter, so it's possible I saw his fights on those events depending on how far the card he was on. Doesn't really stick out in the mind though.

he's the fat, pale, bald guy who throws a lot (probably he throws the most punches per round currently in HW division)Fightnight Scores wrote: ↑13 Mar 2019, 09:24 I saw the Thurman/Lopez card and Garcia/Porter, so it's possible I saw his fights on those events depending on how far the card he was on. IGNORE Kownacki then on that list!!

Don't rate Kuzmin at all. For a guy who stopped Joe Joyce in 40 seconds in the ams he's done very little to get excited about as a pro. Doesn't seem to be a big puncher and fights with no urgency. Can't see him cracking the top 10.

also you should heard about Rivas, he recently knocked out Jennings, Kownacki and Rivas are top 10-15 fighters, on the boxrec's forum ranking Kownacki is #10 and Rivas #12.Fightnight Scores wrote: ↑13 Mar 2019, 10:49 I'm only a recent member![]()
