Hard work, dedication and strong will. Get at least 6 months of training in before you jump in, and don't neglect your running.

To give yourself the best chance, you'll need to be in the gym at least three nights a week, while running on your nights off. If you can only make it for say two nights a week... Ensure you get some sparring in, and do some shadow work at home.

Also, don't be afraid to jump in and spar some much more experienced fighters. It's money for jam.

Need to get fit, really fit, spend hours working on the basics, footwork, technique, head and upperbody movement and retrain your brain to lose your fear of getting hit, learn to motivate yourself because there will be days when you leave the gym feeling hopeless and down on yourself, it’s hard graft physically and mentally but ultimately worth it, when you eventually get your hand raised it will feel like you’ve conquered the world, so work hard be disciplined, listen and learn and you will be fine
