Tyson Fury vs. TBA - 15 June 2019
Fury will return to the ring on June 15, making his first career appearance in Las Vegas atop a card to be staged at the Thomas & Mack Center.
An opponent has yet to be solidified for the event, which will stream live on ESPN+ in the first fight under the unbeaten Brit’s new co-promotional pact with Top Rank and ESPN.
Looks like Fury is cracking Vegas.
He’s done New York, Cali, now time for the strip!!
We know he’s not fighting Rivas.
There was a small talk of Jennings, but who else can ESPN dig up?
Also, what’s the point only having the event on the ESPN+ app? Why not ESPN where it can get even more exposure?

Ruiz Jr?
In terms of saleability (he's only lost to Parker) balanced with risk (he's a lot shorter).

Come on Tyson. Give us the match we all really want to see: the McDermott rubber match!

He recently signed with PBC.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑16 Mar 2019, 02:35 Ruiz Jr?

Unless they can still have him.

Not far for Michael Hunter to travel.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. TBA - 15 June 2019
If he's going to take an interim fight I'd rather it be against somebody who looks the part, so no Ruiz jnr or Kownacki please! Tyson's the only gruesomely fat heavyweight that gets a pass from me.
Joesph Parker is who I'd like to see.

He’s signed with Matchroom so I’d be surprised if they let him fight Fury unless he was well over paid. Also Hunter is very small heavy who relies on movement. Him against Fury wouldn’t be a good fight I don’t think.

I don’t think he’s actually signed with Matchroom. He’s a free agent. Kinda like Takam, another who Matchroom have been using as and when.maverick23 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2019, 13:44He’s signed with Matchroom so I’d be surprised if they let him fight Fury unless he was well over paid. Unless Matchroom actually announced they signed him, like they usually do.

I am kinda disappointed by this phase in his career. Huge momentum wasted, although financially they are knocking it out of the park. I just thought, stupidly, that Fury was a proper fighting man, not a businessman.

My friend works at Top Rank and probably knows who is lined up for Fury.

Fury has always been relatively cautious unless the big rewards were there.
Before Wlad I was worried he was going in massively undercooked, having never faced a proper high end fighter. Obviously he knew the craic!
His other risk was Wilder, again, worried it was too soon but again he knew what he was doing.
I worry now he has this big money deal, he’ll happily face overmatched opponents who offer no threat at all until he’s offered enough dough for Joshua.
Nothings been confirmed yet but some of the names floating about are jank. Jennings, Rivas, Ruiz...massive step back from his last fight

I have no doubt anymore that when Tyson has to step it up and arranges a big fight that he will be ready. I feel that for the reasons you said. He has proven his ability and also that he is good enough to not even need a great run in or prep fights to be able to perform at an elite level.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 04:43Fury has always been relatively cautious unless the big rewards were there.

I just find this such a let down and as someone who had grown to really appreciate the big lummox for his "proper fighting man" attitude since coming back and find this o be the exact opposite of what I had begun to like. While Earn and Anthony Juiceua where talking rather than signing, and Fury was fighting and signing more than talking, it was great fun. AJ looked a total arse and now suddenly, they have made his Miller fight the biggest heavyweight fight on the horizon.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. TBA - 15 June 2019
This is a good thread.
Context is important too, none of us could have figured he'd end up in this position after his first come-back fight was announced last summer. In that context, Tyson has done spectacularly well really. It should be 3 straight wins in a 6 month period after losing ten stones, and right now he should have the WBC strap around his waist.
When you think back to him being flabby, and his timing being way off, against Serefi, with that contest being practically a farce, then his undemanding 2nd fight, Tyson really has come a long way in a short space of time.
I think sometimes us fans hold the fighter accountable, when perhaps it's the behind-the-scenes movers and shakers who are pulling the strings and convoluting the plot for varying reasons, eg TV deals, upstaging the rival camps, and so on.
Lord only know what twists and turns lay ahead but I admire the guy and I admire how he's come back. To some extent all 3 of the top heavies - Fury, Wilder and Joshua - need their heads banging together over the ridiculous state of affairs where none seem to want to sign on the dotted line, but I have a feeling the last man standing will be Fury. All 3 are currently unbeaten, it won't be that way in a year or two though.
