Ugly but no different to Joshua abandoning and denying his own child
I'm no fan of Joshua & agree that is a proper s**tbag move

Wait, hang on, does he have two kids? I know he bought the mother of his kid a £500k property (although in London I guess that's a garden shed...) and splits custody with his son. So is there another kid?

but interesting how losses to mma practioners are treated like proof mma fighters would lose to boxers who cant do anything but punch

even just a takedown or kick threat changes the dynamic so much. if your facing a vastly better grappler or kicker suddenly getting in punching range and throwing shots becomes a lot more risky.

mma fighters also have to watch out for all sorts of different weapons vs other mma fighters, which can draw attention away from punches. they dont vs boxers. so even an mma fighter getting kod by punches from another mma fighter is a different thing

i remember when holm iced rousey and it was treated as a victory for boxing, even though holm started in kickboxing and won via by far her biggest weapon...her foot to the head
It amazes me how some people think just because they are MMA fighters that they are all round superstars in all aspects of Martial arts lol.

Like knobs claiming that Floyd couldn't fight at range with Ronda Rousey because she would kick him LOL
WHEN THE fornicate DID SHE EVER THROW A KICK!!!

Darren Till is a below average wrestler, I seriously doubt he could take a far stronger larger AJ down without getting manhandled. Not happening

Till thinks he's a stand up fighter, Till would get slaughterd by a stiff jab if AJ was barenuckled, a right hand would probably kill him if his head smashed the concrete

Even tho I can’t stand Piers Morgan I did laugh at him trolling and then retrolling Till back on twitter over the weekend.

TBH we don't know if he'd favour grappling against AJ until it happened. Maybe that'd be his preference given the situation, but I've a feeling his K-1 career shaped him into a standup-first guy and he'd get taken out trading. Joshua has a better chin, and he's less of a 'bulker' — he's naturally bigger.

Floyd's latterday career's the modern equivalent of Jesse Owens racing a horse.

True story plenty were saying Floyd wouldn't be able to land on her because she would control the distance with her kicks LOL!!

She was going to pepper Floyd with her kicks and break him down and then swoop in with a Judo toss LOL.

Absolute GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MMA has come a long way but tbf its still so far to go I doubt they will every come close to boxing in Talent level

MMA has seen world champions in kick boxing, muay thai, sambo and BJJ compete, and olympic champions in judo and wrestling, plus a bunch of NCAA wrestling champions. There's plenty of top-level athletes, but they have all competed in combat sports where I'd guess there was more money to be made in MMA. We're not going to see a prime, top level boxer make the jump because they can make as much, if not more money in boxing.

you get plenty of guys who are excellent in a certain discpline in mma, but to be competitive at the highest level they need to work on there all around game. if u are just showing 1 dimension chances r your getting found out at the top levels, though there are some who are just so good at one certain area

All the who would beat who shtick is laughable anyway.look at press conference brawls in combat sports over the years, brawls in the ring inbetween rounds or after the bell etc, that brawl in the grappling league the other week, the majority of the time they have no technique to what they are doing,as it's heat of the moment who gets in first type stuff

Would a guy who is clearly not going to hold his own against a guy who can box at a high level really shape up to him in the spur of the moment?quick example, fella i know who I would say can't really box at all ended things pretty quick with someone who definitely can, quick as you like just drew his foot up and stomped down on his knee & put the other chap in agony, when things happen in the heat of the moment a lot of the time it's who is in the most violent & game frame of mind & who gets in first, different if two guys have a straightener, they've got to "get set" for it then haven't they & then it that case the more trained or discipline chap has the better chance of winning, but some people don't give a f**ck for All that & won't play someone at their own game,Anthony Joshua is a far better fighter than Darren till,in a straightener he'd take his head off, heat of the moment though who knows, and that goes with anybody

Really throws some people not having that time to get set,but yeah anyway boxing & mma are sports & real life "street" fight discussions between fighters are almost always bulls**t discussions, that's just my take

In Re to MMA there is so many skilled fighters knocking about these days but the key to being a great mma fighter lies in having a great wrestling base & also boxing MT & other striking arts, sambo is good too,if your a good grappler though that saves the day a lot of the time

Good Post. It depends on the fighters mentality. For example, someone like wlad would need the sanctity of a boxing ring. If he was on the street vs an animalistic smaller fighter coming at him he would probably bottle it. Like I'm pretty sure prime tyson does wlad early in the ring but wlad would have some kind of shot of landing something. If he was facing tyson on the street, I would give wlad very close to zero percent chance of winning because tyson was a complete thug from the hood who would genuinely try to kill him without mercy like a wild lion while wlad is a PhD holder who fights disciplined long range fencing fights, mixed in with heavy clinching.

Sticking with Joshua, the thing is that very few of the big active UFC guys are noted grapplers. Ngannou; Lewis; Overeem... I'd pick AJ over those. Miocic?
just FYI Overeem had about 6 wins by submission (guillotine) before 2005 was even finished. he finished the likes of belfort and Vovchanchin by guillotine.
Then moves to ufc and gets drug tested galore loses strength and size and gets sparked out or wobbled nearly every fight. My bro is a massive Overeem fan,i used to call him the david haye of mma, does a silky dance when he gets clipped lol
