Keith Thurman has been inactive after having his first fight in 2 years beating Joseito Lopez, So I guess he is due to make his mandatory, Thurman is with PBC and the #1 Contender is Alexander Besputin who is with Top Rank, so does this mean Thurman does not have to make his Mandatory as the fight would be hard to make? Besputin is a good fighter who is not well known, the kind many big names try to avoid, And I notice Thurman has not been mentioning Besputin when asked about his next few fights/meaning Thurman may not be interested in a Besputin fight. So is this fight a no go due to politics?
Thank You in advance.

I'm sure arum would take that fight. Keith has seemed disinterested ever since Spence started calling him out.
Re: Keith Thurman ?
Keith hasn't really seemed interested in Boxing at all the last couple of years to be honest. Or at least only half interested.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑19 Mar 2019, 08:51 I'm sure arum would take that fight. Keith has seemed disinterested ever since Spence started calling him out.

That's how long Spence has wanted him. It was before Errol had a strap when Thurman looked pathetic face to face. Not saying it's all Spence but I was surprised how bitchy Thurman always looked when Spence name comes up. Don't blame him, he'd get the dogshit kicked out of him.gilgamesh wrote: ↑19 Mar 2019, 13:15Keith hasn't really seemed interested in Boxing at all the last couple of years to be honest. Re: Keith Thurman ?
Why are all the better welterweights dodging each other? That should be the main discussion on this website. You've got all the top guys fighting lesser known guys. Top of the food chain seems to be Charlo, Pacquaio, Porter, Crawford, spence, Thurman, D. Garcia.... I'm sure I'm missing a bunch. Is it all boxing politics?
Same thing with the smaller guys. Wouldn't it be the biggest no brainer in the world for Lomachenco to take on Mikey Garcia or Gervonta?

You just have to accept that in this era, different promoters and different network contracts means that a lot of the top fighters simply won't be facing each other.THESURESHOT wrote: ↑19 Mar 2019, 21:52 Why are all the better welterweights dodging each other? There have been some solid matchups involving Thurman, Porter and Danny Garcia.
Maybe that's all we'll get.
I wouldn't lump Charlo in there. He's 154, and I suspect that the best welterweight would be too much for him anyways.
