Where Is Willie Limond?

Post by KOJOE90 »

What's happening with top Scottish Super-Featherweight Willie Limond?

He hasn't fought since last year when he was fighting as a Welterweight!! according to the database.

I know there was talk of him fighting Michael Gomez for a while which of course didn't happen.

Myself I would like to see him fighting the likes of Ricky Burns and Craig Docherty. Or failing that a fight at Lightweight against Lee Meager, Martin Watson or Graham Earl.

Any thoughts? :box:

he was down to fight a few month ago but i think he caught a virus.

hes a great guy but a fight with either watson or burns will not happen as they are all managed with the same team and he would probably get whooped anyway but id like to see him in with doc before he gives in.
although he would have to wait till burns disposes of doc :box:

I'm pretty sure he's officially campaigning at lightweight now

Big mistake IMO - Limond looked so much smaller than Arthur when they met - he's a good little boxer but was a light puncher as a Super Feather... Think this is a mistake.

I wouldn't mind seeing Limond vs Docherty.

Limond v Docherty would be a good match-up, Limond is that wee bit quicker but Doc is pretty good at reading a fight, interesting one. Would maybe favour The Doc. Burns will beat Docherty in my opinion, if he sticks to moving around whilst landing quick shots, but think Doc could hurt him to the body if he mixes it up inside. Burns is a quick mover, and can punch fairly hard if he sits down on his punches, he could rule the division now that Alex has moved on to bigger things.

Anyone know why he weighed 145 for his last fight? Was it short notice or was he out of shape?

Nice counter puncher - skillful but without the egde on his punches to make the difference. There are still plenty of good money making fights out there for him so surprised that he has disappeared..
