So it's official? That's a joke fight, The Gypsy King will outclass this kid.

What a load. This shouldn't even headline a card.

So this is supposed to give Fury more American exposure? How about an American opponent? How about an opponent that has a name? Shvtter of a fight.

Fury doesn’t take risks unless there’s big money or titles there.

Outside of Wlad and Wilder his record is crap, against carefully selected opponents more or less.

That's not true.

Context is everything. He made pretty impressive leaps throughout his career.

It is true though. Chisora is a maybe, first time round but his handlers knew the deal. Chisora struggled against Tom Dallas in the amateurs, was very raw and has subsequently massively overachieved in his career.
Outside of Wlad and Wilder, there’s a massive drop off in quality. Lots of near nothing fights.

Haye was a figure that would have been something substantial but Haye cost Fury an entire year--- you ought to look up the "Fight by Fight: Tyson Fury" thread breaking down his career. You'll see that he did make big leaps.

I don’t need to look it up, I’ve watched him from the start. Channel five, early days. Remember him form the amateurs when he was an international.
The McDermott fight was a fair step up, that he lost. He won the rematch of course, after that, Chisora was a step up, but then there’s nothing until Wlad. Smoke and mirror fight with Cunningham, stepping away from Price to fight old man Rogan, the most pointless fight in boxing history against Hmamer etc

It’s just his approach. It’s disappointing but it’s worked so far. I can see people being massively turned off now though if it’s Schwarz, Jennings and Rivas from here onwards.

He’s not striking whilst the iron is hot. Before he knows it Joshua will have all the belts and Fury will be looking at mandatory money.

i think he is actually striking---big money for relatively easy fights

not an ambitious strike, but financially a good one

Yes. You can call Fury many things but stupid is not one of them. He's a smart man well versed in smoke and mirrors. He's also a fine an actor as boxing has ever seen but there's a lot more to the Tyson Fury story than meets the eye.

Even worse it’s on the app. I know they have around 2m subs, but they could still have it on ESPN too. Would be bigger.

Yeah, I get that. Why not?

The fans won’t give a shit though. Somebody wake us up when he decides he wants to fight opponents that are worth the time of day.

I'm just happy HWs are fighting each other. I could think of a lot worse opponents. Apparently so could Fury in his first two comeback fights.

I can not understand/imagine the one thing. How will the promoters (who signed multi-million contract with Fury) get back the "big money" with this kind of Fury's opponent.

I can see Fury slipping back to bad habits and coming in out of shape for such a matchup. Terrible move by his camp.

Fury wins this. But this fight makes no sense. And not a good look to fight a European how is unknown on a big stage like that.

Yes they are paying him the kind of money he might expect to fight Whyte or Ortiz, to face an unknown, untested European. I'm curious as to what Schwartz is getting paid because even allowing for his youth, he hasn't shown any signs of ambition up until now.

I'd been wondering why he didn't seem interested in targeting Michael Wallisch for the German title, and now he's by-passed at least two levels to take on Tyson Fury in a fight he has only a very small chance of winning :maybe:

It's a really disappointing turn of events. I'm feeling a bit let down.

Fury signing for espn was great for him and his bank balance but not for the immediate future of the heavyweight division.

Just can't believe it. Should it really happen they will sell it big time on german free tv as "tom schwarz goes for the lineal heavyweight championship!" but fornicate me! is it a mismatch!

Of course fury could toy with/carry him to avoid a gon't blink or it's over stinker but fornicate! where's the point in this!

Schwarz up until now exclusively bullied handpicked inferior opponents with basic technique. He's a thick, crude, quite strong, relatively unfit guy. his defensive skill is minimal... can't believe and still don't think it will happen.
