Great shame about boxing all these uncompetitive fights - I mean at the heart of it,boxing is the most noble & hardest sport,set apart from all others due to its brutal & unforgiving nature & the fact that the courage it takes to fight many will never have,and the grit it takes to get fighting fit is something only a select few have

Boxing is special in my opinion & a cut above other sports due to what it requires from someone to do it,but all this matchmaking & dross makes it just all a bit "run of the mill" tbh,

It’s a business mate and while punters keep paying to watch uncompetitive fights on stacked cards promotors will just carry on in the same vein promotors can stand moans for ever and a day what they carnt stand is punters not spending money watching the dross so basically without punters there is no boxing quite simple really

Yeah I wouldlnt give a f**k about some geezer in a pub or on the net moaning as long as I was earning a few quid,im aware of all that & the business aspect mate,all supply & demand isn't it,only knocking out what people keep paying for but imo their buying it cos it's all that's out there,and promoters know most fans will have a moan & buy anyway cos they love the sport & will "take what they get"

For me it's not about spending,as if there's a fight/fights I want to see,I've no problem buying,if it's jank I take no heed of it,I just like to see good competitive fights,I know they're getting rarer & rarer but hate seeing folk bash up two-bob opposition,to me it's like that local chap in every city /town feared by those that don't know better cos he keeps bashing up all the hapless easy pickings - proves nothing,I'd rather a fighter have early career losses against decent testing opposition & then get round it mentally & come on strong & have a great career

Get a lad who keeps bashing up no hopers in easy fights,then he has his first proper fight against someone with a pulse & he gets poggered,it then takes a mental affect on him & it's a downward spiral from there,was he even made & conditioned to be a fighter anyway?

All wishful thinking but it be better all round if it was like that,all this "confidence building" lark I don't get,ok 2-3early easy fights,and no one wants to see a upstart get chucked to the wolves,but many easy early fights does nothing for a fighter imo,a true fighter who has his mind prepared right would relish proper challenges early on.

A major problem as I see it is the fact that sky granted exclusivity to matchroom and that seems to allow them to put absolute crap matches on As they have no real competition I always thought this was a bad move competition creates quality not exclusivity imo

Think it's going to be this way for the next couple of years. The Liverpool show next weekend looks decent but the Matchroom show in April looks diabolical. BT haven't got anything good lined up.

It will all be ppv within 2 years imo and promotors without tv deals will just put ticket deal contract fights on its been going this way for a few years now hence the rise in unlicensed shows which are undoubtedly of dubious quality at times but at least both fighters come to fight which is what punters want honest effort and endeavour

BT turned out to have a decent show, the Russian card had moments, the shocker in Mexico. Not a great weekend but not a totally awful one
