Of course after the fight Tessitore and the broadcast gang were lauding Pulev as "dynamic and charismatic."

Absolutely gushing.

I wonder if they would be so high on him if he wasn't an ESPN fighter?

It won't be long before they'll have him up there with Lomachenko and Crawford as a P4P best.

Pulev only became aggressive when he was in danger of being stopped because of the cut.

Until then, he fought at typical pacifist pace.

It took a near TKO to light his fire.

He struggled with Dinu. He'll get thrashed by AJ. Had Dinu just jabbed and moved he would've gotten a TKO, but...

Dinu also looked pretty good against Miller at the beginning of their fight.

They have an irritating habit of doing that when it's one of their own.

ESPN fights have basically become a lengthy promo for the fighters in the TR stable.

The actual boxing is secondary.

They really kicked it into overdrive when ESPN + was created and extra hype was necessary to sell the app.

It was a fantastic fight. The cut fighter pushed hard to win to avoid a potential TKO loss. Pulev is big, quick, and maneuverable; a match for anyone.

Lol, yeah not really a growing trend. Wish I would have checked here before I deleted my DVR. Doesn't sound horrible. Pulev/Jennings should be next.

Pulev is so inaccurate. Boggles the mind how a pro boxer can be that way. He's slow but that's not it, he doesn't know how to come up underneath to create openings. Just stiff with punches up top.

The Top Rank Boxing on ESPN doubleheader Saturday night from Costa Mesa, California, which included mandatory heavyweight title challenger Kubrat Pulev’s rousing seventh-round knockout of Bogdan Dinu and featherweight Jessie Magdaleno’s one-sided decision over fellow former junior featherweight titlist Rico Ramos, averaged 469,000 viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. It also averaged another 41,000 on ESPN Deportes.

It marked the lowest viewer total for the series so far in 2019 and was the least viewed prime time Top Rank card since its ESPN deal began in mid-2017.

Seriously how could anyone be surprised at those numbers, unless you expected fewer.

March Madness (college basketball tournament) undoubtedly put a hit on the boxing numbers.

But the ESPN boxing schedule is so unpredictable, fans often don't even know that it's on.

Along with PBC on Fox Sports 1, the boxing telecasts are apparently scheduled for whenever there's an opening.

"It marked the lowest viewer total..."

Like i just said on the other thread, there were a lot more viewers than they counted. But really how much publicity did Pulev and Dinu get here in the USA? Not many people other than us boxing fans knew their names.

Nobody knows them, that's why it's hilarious for you to call him a star. There were plenty of viewers that weren't counted for all the other fights and less people watched this. Serious, that was like the stupidest rebuttal ever. In

It was, especially because everybody - me included - thought that the fight was going to be stopped because of that awful cut.
