There are a load of wonderful British Title fights that won't get made.
Yeah it happens more often than not these days with their management saying “Let’s build the fight” or “Wait until they are both on the world stage”.
In times gone by without the proliferation of international titles, the best of Britain would contest the British title with the winner going on to world stage. And many times it did t affect the loser adversely either. Look at old Jim Watt.
Instead we see these fights made at the end of fighters careers when both are past it if they ever get made at all.
if the fight is made then I presume that dubios and joyce will have spared or something before there is no way that warran and dubios are that confident without foundation

I don't necessarily agree that they must've sparred. I think that Joyce's shortfalls are obvious and they would be confident of Dubois chances. I am, although there's no need to rush the lad.
this fight makes no sense, dubois is a novice can we stop feeding our prospects to wolves they do this in MMA and it seems to be filtering through to boxing !

I think it's a fair enough match up.joyce isn't great himself, just a bit physical prescence who can impose his will very well.id rather see prospects take decent fights, and if they lose & still have it mentally,I believe it will stand them in better stead for their career
I agree,no one should be chucked to the wolves, but feeding 10no hopers to a young upstart is no good imo....
If a mans got enough mettle about him, especially a young fit & strong boxer,he'll take a loss, learn from it & come back twice as strong

you make a fair point mate, i was just thinking that at this stage Joyce will just, out-man-strength him similar to Kevin Johnson (but have x2 activity)
Joyce points if this fight happens - what do you reckon say this happens in July?

I think Joyce will be to much for him,in the way you've said, simply out-manning him.even though dubois is a bit of a unit himself he's likely going to be pushed around by Joyce & that's what I see happening....although a few lads I've spoke too,and I've also read elsewhere, reckon that Joyce's chin won't stand up to a dubois punch....

agreed, the man strength factor should not be underestimated - is Joyce known to be chinny has he been stopped at ammy level?

Wikipedia says he was KO'd by Sergei Kuzmin and Hamza Beguerni in the ams, both in 2013. I don't know the nature of the stoppages, how bad they were or whatever. I can't see anything since then (apart from the sparring story that Fury sparked him) and from what we've seen from the Olympics onwards he seems to have a solid beard.
I know two decent lads who have sparred rounds with both. They both told me Dubois is a massive puncher. He’s put both these blokes out!
Joyce is a nightmare too.
If Dubois has the top level power some are suggesting, he can win this as he’ll certainly connect at some point on Joyce. Everyone does!
If its happens then we have to give these guys respect for putting it on the line either way. It's how it should be done. lets have no doubt both these boys would want it. Its just the money men that will most likely talk it off.

cheers for that mate, from what I have seen at ammy level (generally, not Joyce specific) refs are very keen to call on the feet stoppages
