Just to follow the Japanese stuff, LEGALLY, you're looking at £300+, so if you want all the trimmings you're likely looking at £2k (Sky, BT, Isakura, Boxingraise, FITE PPV's, TFC TV), throw a VPN on top to watch some of the free but geolocked stuff as well...Awfully expensiveoogiebe wrote: ↑25 Mar 2019, 14:25Quite frankly, it's becoming an expensive addiction. 1,000/year or more if you get all the trimmings. Completely wrong. Particularly the £99/99p comment. At the end of the day, a lot of people who stream illegally would buy the genuine article if it was reasonably priced
An official stream in HD with no buffering, pop-ups or crashing at the main event is worth a couple of quid of any serious fan's money.
Re: Hearn: Sky need to Increase Rights Fees
Eddie Hearn fooking over “his” company ‘s long-term business partner (Sky) to the benefit of his new business partner (DAZN) and then trying to blame it on market forces in the US, which Eddie is a significant player in driving. This must really stick in the throat of Barney Francis and Adam Smith and they must surely be wondering what sort of monster they have created.
It’s clear to see that Eddie has no real loyalty to Sky and it’s actually quite insulting of him to tell Sky to up their rights fees given that it is Sky who gave Eddie a monopoly, budget and platform to become a major promoter, which granted he has utterly maximised. Who needs enemies with friends like that springs to mind....
Eddie’s ambition is gonna cause a massive demise in his relationship with Sky unless he can reign in his US ambitions.
Personally, top British fighters fighting at 3 and 4am from America doesn’t do it for me and I can see myself starting to lose interest particularly if the British shows are basically full of fighters being built.

Re: Hearn: Sky need to Increase Rights Fees
It doesn't help when boxers are demanding ridiculous fees either to be honest.
Re: Hearn: Sky need to Increase Rights Fees
I really don’t believe they are, despite Hearn strongly suggesting they are. Hearn is the only one championing US fight purses, and continuously too. Let’s not forget that it’s Hearn’s new business partner, DAZN that have single handedly driven up the prices.
You’re actually repeating Hearn’s rhetoric. But the truth is; it’s Hearn who needs his UK fighters on DAZN because he’s struggled to sign high volume numbers of top level American fighters, which he thought he would do easy with DAZN’s financial clout.
There are patterns to Hearn’s behaviour whereby he plays on truths. And with his constant (near 24/7) access to and presence on media like IFL TV, BoxingSocial and Fight-Hype his words often become the believed and adopted narrative.
I remember the words of Ben Davison not long ago in relation to Hearn apparently being “unable” to secure Joshua an opponent for Wembley. He basically said that whilst Eddie Hearn can be very convincing, he wasn’t to be believed necessarily in what he puts out in the media. He specifically referenced that Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte were all critical of Hearns’ offers and that they couldn’t do business with him, yet Fury and Wilder did business very easily. Interesting that the Wembley show collapse will have cost Sky an absolute fortune in potential PPV sales and gate receipts but will now benefit DAZN’s push for more subscribers at MSG versus Miller. I didn’t hear Joshua demanding to go fight in the US...
Re: Hearn: Sky need to Increase Rights Fees
Dazn are vying to be the netflix of sport , not a bad move and really if its not DAZN it will be someone else , These people are not stupid they know its the future .
I take myself . for years and years , boxing nutcase , i would watch and pay for anything and everthing if it had boxing in it , But now Naaaw , STUFF EM ,,, i'M A STREAMER AND PROUD OF IT . do i feel bad that i'm streaming and probably taking a couple of quid out of AJ'S , Wilders , Canelo's pocket do i fook , do they feel bad charging 20-30-40- million to get in the ring and beat easy opponents , do they fook .
So they have a dillima , I and thousands no millions of others , will not pay to see Fury fight Schwarz , Wilder v Breazelle ,, or AJ ,, versus Miller ,, Why simply because its the best fighting anyone except each other .
So what do i do , its simple , when its a fight i think i don't want to miss , example Canelo - Golotkin 1 and 2 I buy the ppv . Fury v Wilder ,,AJ- Klitchko , i buy the ppv , WHY easy answer i don't want to miss it i don't want to risk a streaming site being overloaded shut down whatever reason i don't want to miss it .
,, Now a fight i know is a mismatch , know the winner before it starts , AJ -Miller ,, fURY -- sCHWATZ OR WHATEVER HIS NAME IS , and countless others in fact the majority of fights , well do i care if i miss them NO , so i stream them if i lose the stream , not bothered go make a cup of tea and put netflix on , pick it up later on UTUBE if i can be bothered .
So the constant ducking , diving , manipulation of belts , holding back to marinate , has done what . its turned me a boxing fanatic into a casual watcher , How could they get me back , well the present way of subscribing to sky sports and then paying for rubbish mismatched fights certainly will not do it
But at the moment i subscribe to foxtel , which is not worth it but the missis loves her uk TV SO I'M FOOKED I'VE GOT TO PAY THE 70 DOLLARS A MONTH ,, but myself i quite happilly pay 10 dollars p/mth for Netflix and 10 dollars p/mth for Stan ,,
Why simple it gives me a contsant stream of good shows and movies , more than enough for me cos i'm not a tv addict so its worth it ,
Now if i had the option of DAZN for 10 bucks a month and i get every ppv included , well its a no brainer for 120 dollars a month i get it all I get Canelo - Golotkin , Fury -Wilder , i get the ones i want to watch , and the ones i don't care enough to buy .
Its a no Brainer , its the way of the future , Eddie knows this , he's not stupid , thats why he's aligning himself with them , first in best dressed scenario

ESPN+ is half the price with tons more content. Dazn won't ever come close to passing them here.

A much smaller number than did in a pre-streaming world. I suspect much of what is illegally streamed is due to it not being available on one of the services. I. E. And if it was available to me i would probably buy it , But at the moment here in Aust , its really pay your monthly subscribtion to foxtel , mines around 70 then the ppv usually around $49.95.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑25 Mar 2019, 23:44 ESPN+ is half the price with tons more content. Me like i said unless its a real good fight i don't want to miss , i'll stream most boxing , and buy Dazn or whoever else comes in with a low ball offer . But paying twice for rubbish fights not happening

Why bother watching a fight at all if it’s rubbish and you don’t value it enough to buy it? I used to like back in the day where most Fridays Sky did small hall shows. Boxing is way down the list anyway, I’m sure they barely give a toss. Hopefully the exclusive Hearn deal is done soon and we get other promoters competing to get on the channel.

I miss Sky sports Friday fight nights. Nearly 10 years since Moore - Rhodes. Jamie Moore fights in general. Hennessy shows (his good days) Maloney shows. The odd Hatton show.

If I were Sky I'd be dubious of this. Eddie is on a cut of the "show" as far as i know so if Sky have to pay more, doesn't this mean Eddie makes more too ? How about Eddie takes less ?!?!
