Born in Barbados, 27-year old Cobia Breedy (13-0, 4 KO), 125 ½, calls Hyattsville, Maryland home and kept his undefeated mark in front of the locals with a unanimous decision over 24-year old Fernando Fuentes (14-8-1, 4 KO), 125 ¼, of Hemet, California. The bout, scheduled for eight rounds, was shortened by a clash of heads in round six. Both men winced and referee David Braslow quickly summoned the ring doctor to take a look at Fuentes. A bad cut over the Californians left eye, ruled caused by an accidental collision, drew an immediate end to the fight and sent them to the scorecards. Breedy prevailed at 59-55 and 58-56 twice.
After suffering two losses in three fights from August 2016 to November 2017, 23-year old welterweight hopeful Kareem Martin (12-2-1, 3 KO), 148 ½, of Washington, DC, made it three wins in a row with a steady six-round performance against veteran trial horse Joaquin Chavez (9-18-3, 2 KO), 144 ½, of Los Angeles, California. Two of the judges came in for Martin at 60-54 and 59-55 while another shockingly scored for Chavez at 58-56. The referee was Harvey Dock.

19-year old 2018 National Golden Gloves champion Adrian Benton (1-0), 138 ¾, of Cincinnati, Ohio, made a successful professional debut in the Jr. welterweight division to open the evening’s action. Benton controlled all four rounds against 33-year old Liberian Archie Weah (2-12), 141 ½, to begin his tenure in the paid ranks and was rewarded with matching scores of 40-36. The referee was David Braslow.

I’m bit gutted that ITV are picking up most PBC cards. Guarantee Bnation would have picked this up at least.
Now there’s a PBC and ITV deal, no one else can touch PBC in the UK. Shame really. Or no one has yet at least.

I had Peterson ahead by a few before he was stopped.
It wasn’t the nicest KD’s, a few theatrics. But I do think his coach (Barry is it?) acts more like Lamont’s dad than he does trainer. I know there’s a big back story and all that but still. Like how he stopped the Spence fight too.

Peterson announced his retirement in the post fight presser.
Went out infront of his home crowd. His brother is still there stealing draws, Keelung his record up.

FOXonPBC YouTube channel will have either full fights and/or highlights soon

Sunday’s telecast averaged just over 290,000 viewers across Fox Sports’ various platforms, topped by Sergey Lipinets’ thrilling 10th round knockout of Lamont Peterson (35-5-1, 17KOs) in a battle of former titlists at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Md.
The bulk of the viewership came from its FS1 telecast, which peaked at 290,000 viewers from 9:45pm-10:00pm ET from an average of 248,000 viewers. Another 40,000 watched on Fox Deportes while 2,134 subscribers tuned in via Fox Sports streaming service.
The main event itself averaged 230,000 viewers, which actually started well after the allotted two-hour time slot for the telecast, as the show as a whole ran more than an hour past its budgeted 10:00pm ET signoff.
Despite positive social media buzz, the telecast was lost in the sports shuffle on a weekend dominated by college basketball. The tournament as a whole averaged more than 10 million viewers across four networks (CBS, TNT, TBS, truTV) on Sunday, up 8% from second round coverage one year ago.
FS1’s boxing offering on Sunday went head-to-head with basketball coverage on TBS and TNT. The pair of games on TBS averaged 2.747 million and 2.695 million viewers, up 47% and 21% from the same window one year prior.

Shame because it was a really good fight.
Any boxing fan that hasn’t seen it yet, I recommend it.
