Who will be the next HW champion ?
Who will be the next HW champion ?
I have not mentioned Tyson Fury, he has been the champion.
What do you think who will be the next champion (dethrone Joshua or Wilder) excluding Fury ?

Re: Who will be the next HW champion ?
maybe someone playing the long game, i feel fury/wilder/aj are a lot better then the others out there aside from maybe usyk, and we have to see how he is at hw.

None of them. I think Joshua beats them all.

Tom Schwarz!

Re: Who will be the next HW champion ?
Someone will beat Joshua someday but I don't think it's going to be any of those guys.
Re: Who will be the next HW champion ?
True, or not in the next few years at least. Wilder, on the other hand, is more beatable, but will they let him take another risk? He was in all sorts of trouble with Ortiz and lost a points decision against a fairly rusty Fury.
Re: Who will be the next HW champion ?
Maybe ... If they can persuade Lennox to make a come-back ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Why isn't Pulev on your list? Anyway, I pick Usyk.

He was in so much trouble against Ortiz that they had to have their phony referee and ring doctor stop the fight to "examine" him.

Are you claiming that they were unlicensed?
Re: Who will be the next HW champion ?
Simply, I can not imagine Pulev winning against Joshua or Wilder. I can not forget how Wlad had destroyed him.
Re: Who will be the next HW champion ?
I have not put Povetkin on this list, too. Joshua and Wilder are too much for him, although I think he would defeat at least six mentioned fighters on the list.

Re: Who will be the next HW champion ?
Hughie is still only 23, and it's kind of amazing that a fighter that young fared that well against Pulev and Parker. If he's not done improve, then he could be a monster one day.
Dubois seems pretty far out to be the next guy in line to hold a belt. But he's super young and has the look of a killer. He could likely be a champ in 5-8 years; but in order to be the correct choice in the poll, he requires that no one else emerges as champ sooner than that.
Not sure if Usyk will actually be more successful at HW than Pulev and Povetkin were. But he seems to be a small number of fights away from having a really good chance at a belt. Plus, as an undisputed CW champ, the sanctioning bodies will probably open doors for him to get a shot.
Hrgovic and Ajagba are some of the leaders of the current class of prospects. I think either one has the ability to beat a top 20 opponent soon and a top 10 opponent in a year or two. They have a good chance of being world class fighters in about 2.5 - 3 years.

Re: Who will be the next HW champion ?
A silly list ? It might be, but I wouldn't like to me misunderstood. This is not the list of the best HWs, and, yes, Pulev and Povetkin (even Hughie Fury, Chisora and Kabayal might be) are better than a half of mentioned boxers.Ilya Muromets wrote: ↑27 Mar 2019, 19:01
Peak Wlad destroyed everybody. Povetkin and Pulev aren't on your list but look who is. No, my friend, it is a silly list.
Anyway, I can not imagine Pulev or Povetkin defeating Joshua or Wilder. Simply, I can not imagine this.
I can imagine Rivas, Mak or Ajagba winning against Joshua or Wilder (at least all of them are capable for a lucky punch).

OK I got it. So you've got some B guys with a big punch that would have a puncher's chance.

Yes, but I hope (and believe) that these B guys will become A/A+ very soon. At least - some of them.Ilya Muromets wrote: ↑28 Mar 2019, 13:20ValMar wrote: ↑28 Mar 2019, 12:44A silly list ? I chose "other", because whoever gets Manuel Charr next will become the next heavyweight champion.

Or... Whoever wins if Charr is stripped of his "bogus" title and two contenders are chosen to fight for the vacant belt.
