Fair to say not the best job being done even if they are.

I wonder if will in an odd way give Selby more leverage to challenge Edwards. Edwards needs a good domestic rivalary and if his team think Selby might have been exposed - they might fancy it a bit more. Selby himself might not have as many demands to take the fight.
I still see Edwards as a world champion in the way I saw Stuart Hall as a world champion. Won the belt and a geniune belt fairly, but the opposition wasn't the best. Yes, I know fighting a guy who has lost isn't going to do this - but Selby has a bit of a name at least.

Altitude may have been a factor as wellOld bones Ian wrote: ↑26 Mar 2019, 14:04 Bit shocking how quick Selby was blowing, maybe it was heat or humidity, but he seemed to gas by the 4th, looked unsteady on his way back to the corner.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of Martinez Aguilar he looks a bit of a destroyer

No one speaks Mexican, not even Mexicans.Shhhh wrote: ↑24 Mar 2019, 12:16No. I don’t speak MexicanRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑24 Mar 2019, 11:51Did you?
You don't need to speak Spanish to hear the passion and excitement in their voices, they clearly love the sport.
Russian commentary is similar in that sense, if slightly more understated.

Remember watching his first few fights when I'd see him winning rounds yet taking needless shots and between rounds Borg would just say something along the lines of 'beautiful boxing!' or 'keep it up, your winning easily'. It used to worry me a bit.jamamb wrote: ↑24 Mar 2019, 15:20 ppl had said he might struggle with a rough strong aggressive fighter. i didnt it expect him to get knocked out at this low a leevel, though maybe the mexican will prove more, he is a young guy
selby is good but very little power or authority in his slappy amateur style, also i feel his skill wasnt actually as great as billed, more that he had very good speed and just got away with that a lot of the time. i wouldnt say he was a super neat and tidy boxer though.
This fight seemed to take a similar pattern, Selby boxed well for the most part, but took too many shots. Martinez looks very heavy handed, pretty much every shot he landed seemed to shake Selby and the body shot was no fluke.

Yeah 5,000 feet above Sea Level Wouldn’t have helped. They lost the purse bid so they had to travel.Boxing Prospect wrote: ↑26 Mar 2019, 17:03Altitude may have been a factor as wellOld bones Ian wrote: ↑26 Mar 2019, 14:04 Bit shocking how quick Selby was blowing, maybe it was heat or humidity, but he seemed to gas by the 4th, looked unsteady on his way back to the corner.

Think both Selby’s have been quite badly managed in their pro careers.
