Always felt a bit uncomfortable about this fight,completely pointless

Went pretty much as expected, Eggington taking his lumps and trying his best and TBF I thought commentary were ignoring a lot of his work which was landing, Smith not the hardest to hit and he shipped a few shots, he brushed them off with ease and come back with harder accurate shots, he dug in some sickening body shots and walked Eggington down and nailed him flush with some big punches on the ropes, Eggington too brave for his own good and I would've liked to have seen the towel come in before the stoppage, Smith looked in the mood though,, good finishing instincts

That about sums it up for me too. Eggy didn't get enough credit for the leather he did land, and he did have quite a lot of success. Ultimately it made no difference and anyway Smith seemed happy to let Eggington have that success. He then looked like a monster every time he landed on Eggington shaking him to his boots.

Not sure where Eggington go's from here. He's going to need protecting. That was a mauling he didn't need to take. He isn't a light middle.

Hope poor old Eggington got paid well is all I can say .
Brave as they come , but nowhere near Smith's level and seemed to have no power at the weight , actually landed some decent body shots , but they had zero effect .

Is women's boxing appealing to a bigger audience now or are they getting more coverage just to be PC

I think it's because women's mma exploded.

I don't watch mma. Do they show lots of women's fight then mate?

I think they made a huge mistake moving Egginton up to lmw, he was a solid Euro level Welterweight, he just got out boxed a couple of times.

They should have stayed at Welter and accepted that he needs to avoid rangy boxer/mover types as much as possible.


All in all, I enjoyed the card, Price vs Ali was a bit of a mess but had a bit controversy, the main event was one sided but Egginton gave it a good go for a few rounds, and Hughes/Davies and Fowler/Fitz were both very good fights.

True. They could have had him with a known European boxer. But instead, it made more sense to them to put him on an all-BrItish fight with a guy who got toasted his last bout.

So sad as sam seems a good guy and this could wreck him.
