I used to stand up yelling at the TV when guys like hearns, holy field, saad & Duran fought. I shed a tear during Rd 5 of Morales/maidana. I cling to that love by still watching a product that really isn't that good.

interesting. I did get off my seat during Wilder/Ortiz and Joshua/Klitchko, but I don't do it nearly as often as the 70's 80's.

Don't want to turn this thread into Usyk Bellew but from memory Usyk was always comfortable with Bellew and was going through the gears. Another fight where sky's commentating wasn't good

This. Behind on the cards doesn't mean out boxed. I don't remember Bellew outboxing Usyk at any point.

Fair play to Bellew, he started fast and worked hard, but Usyk looked completely unflustered throughout. He basically had a look, didn't see anything that bothered him, picked up the pace and took Bellew out.

Yes, and he's earned his shot but it doesn't look like he'll get it. I'd fancy him to take out Wilder though if he goes that route.

Why do you think Whyte is better than Joshua? Joshua battered him when they fought, and whilst its several years later I've not seen anything from Whyte to suggest he's superior to Joshua. Agree he's got a decent punchers chance against Wilder, and I'd say a slim punchers chance against Joshua.

Yeah, cannot judge Usyk on the Bellew fight..... its a bit like saying Connor McGregor should beat Adrien Boner.... well McGregor won more rounds vs Mayweather than Pacquiao did and Pacquiao dominated Broner.

Usyk was PLAYING with Bellew, and Bellew knew it to his credit.

Usyk is the only heavyweight I am excited about at the moment.

Absolutely - playing with him really and knew that Bellew didn't have a great track record of sustaining a high intensity for 12 rounds at Cruiserweight or Heavyweight and wasn't getting any younger. It was a brilliant tactic really..... I'm sure if Usyk was troubled by Bellew at all he would have upped his game earlier..... He was in complete control.

The Breidis vs Usyk fight was a bit different mind IMO - but then I'd also love to see Breidis at Heavyweight, I'd immediately favour him over all the non champions also.

Bellew reached parity at best in the opening rounds, after which Usyk turned up the heat mostly on his own terms.

Bellew was good enough to earn his respect without ever denting his confidence. Heavyweight's obviously a different game, so I think it's best for Usyk to see how effective his power is with a couple of warm-ups. He won't know if he's being too gung-ho or too negative until he's had a few trades.

I’m sold on Usyk. I would put money on him to beat any Heavyweight that isn’t named Joshua.
Height I don’t see being an issue. He’s smart enough to get in range without any problems.
Weight. Could be a problem. The reason Usyk is so popular is he loves getting involved. If he gets caught on an opponents chest he might get weighed down and cop an unfortunate one.
Usyk is good enough to stay in range and avoid big shots.
The only way to beat him would keep him on the end of a jab. Imagine Holmes and Lewis controlling distance and jabbing his head off.
AJ is more than capable of boxing to instructions and keeping the jab going.

All I know for sure is if the fight is made I’d hopefully be there watching. GREAT FIGHT.
