Prospect Watch: Bakhodir Jalolov April 10

Big 6'7" Bakhodir Jalolov returns to the ring against bigger 6'10" Donnie Palmer on April 10th at Sony Hall, NY. Jalalov is 24 y/o and 5-0 (5 KOs) as a pro. He carries a lot of power and moves well for such a big guy. He's a southpaw and worth a watch. While this is just another tomato can to pulverize, Jalalov has big upside and is one worth keeping an eye on.

Yeah, I get that Yoka is suspended still, but Dychko is a total riddle as per his inactivity.

Yeah, I identified Jalolov in mid-2017 in the HW prospect thread. He is certainly worth watching.

Jalolov is sort of a power-punching, switch-hitting, perpetual motion machine. Kind of like Sam Soliman with power. I'm kind of worried that his hands seem to be a little low, but in the scope of his overall style, it seems defensible.

I've been on him for a while too. I saw him in the ams and his size and being a southpaw really stood out to me. He doesn't appear to be Joe Joyce slow, and he puts his punches together rather well for a big guy. He's sort of in between Makhmudov and Hrgovic in style and power.

He is one of the MANY rising star ex-amateurs coming out of Uzbekistan (Giyasov, Ahmadaliev, Gaibnazarov, Madrimov, etc) and I'm following them all with great interest & enthusiasm!!

Those video clips of his KOs are definitely impressive. How did you know about him, Lackeos?

He stood out to me as one of the particularly young dudes in the 2016 Olympic SHW quarterfinals. Jalolov, Ajagba, and Hussein Ishaish are all 23-24 years old right now; but Ishaish hasn't turned pro yet. Of course, Jalolov was surrendering 9 years of age to his conqueror, Joe Joyce, here.

Jalolov additionally made the 2017 AIBA quarter-finals, where he lost to silver medalist Kamshybek Kunkabayev (giving-up 3 years in age). Ishaish reached the second round of the 2017 AIBA champs, but was knocked-out by triple gold medalist boogeyman Magomed Majidov.

Jalolov also won the bronze medal at the 2015 AIBA champs, where he beat Ishaish, but lost to Dychko (giving-up 4 years in age).

Of the 4 Uzbeks I mention, the super welter Israil Madrimov is the only one who wasnt in 2016 Olympics but his amateur resume' is nonetheless impressive.
