Large heavyweights Best looking physique
Large heavyweights Best looking physique
I feel Efe Ajagba has the best looking physic for any heavyweight in history for tall heavyweights and his body hasn't filled out yet. I can't remember of any other good tall heavyweight with a crazy looking physic like Agaba. I excluded Evander holyfield because he was not an imposing figure. any other heavyweight comes to mind ?

I might be naive but what is the point of this post? How you look in boxing can often be misleading a large Fury has a better engine than most chizzled heavyweights!

Ken Norton had the best physique, but he wasn't that large, especially by today's standards.

You should have stood next to him.Syntax Error wrote: ↑05 Apr 2019, 07:59 Ken Norton had the best physique, but he wasn't that large, especially by today's standards.
I encountered Norton in Las Vegas when he was training for the Young fight in 1977.
The guy was buffed to the extreme. Simply massive.
Today everyone would be screaming "'roids."

I feel that non-sporting related specialist threads like this, which are targeted towards the LGBTQ members of the BoxRec community, should be moved to the ‘Off Topic’ board.

Imagine how big Foreman was! He looked so much bigger than Norton in their fight.SenorPipino wrote: ↑05 Apr 2019, 08:05 You should have stood next to him.

Re: Large heavyweights Best looking physic
I'm a bit surprised that AJ doesn't get a nod. He's massive and cut. much thicker than Ajagba and Norton and looks solid as steel.
Re: Large heavyweights Best looking physic
Yet it is debatable whether his physique enhanced or detracted from his effectiveness as a fighter. I'm rather with kbackup408 (now there's a name that doesn't exactly roll off the tongue) on this one.SenorPipino wrote: ↑05 Apr 2019, 08:05 You should have stood next to him.

Re: Large heavyweights Best looking physic
Very true. You notice that in their Caracas fight.
But Foreman was only listed as an inch taller than Norton and probably around 10 heavier pounds.
Probably has to do with weight distribution. And when I did see Norton in late 1977, he was a little thicker in the chest than he was when he fought Ali and Foreman in 1973 and 1977.

Slightly gay the way it's worded
Re: Large heavyweights Best looking physic
I wouldn't say this was "GAY" or aimed at "LBGT" community. I do agree it would've been better in off-topic, but I don't see this as a big deal. It would have been better if it had been best physique for boxing.

Is this about "physique" or "physic?"
I wouldn't have even commented if I knew it was about physique.
That's definitely gay stuff. Broner would throw a fit.

Re: Large heavyweights Best looking physic
Heavyweights need to look in good shape, not just be in good shape ... that's why so many people turn up to see Anthony Joshua fight , while fury has no fan base ... and too many people are disgusted with wilder beibg so light weight and having flamingo size legs.

Probably Anthony J. But the best looking overall goes to Gilberto Ramirez.
Saw him up close a few years ago and he looks like an Abercrombie Model. Well I’m a straight man. All about the ladies actually. 0 % gay, but Im pretty comfortable with my sexuality. Anyways This thread is pretty gay

Re: Large heavyweights Best looking physic
Even old days all good boxers was in tremendous shape, no fighters had so much fat sides. So you basically telling me 70% of 50,000 to 90,000 boxing fans attended wembelly stadium to see joshua or klitchko at german stadium are gay in some ways. Because you are old hardcore boxing fan and you don't under how new generation boxing fans think.Luckybattles wrote: ↑05 Apr 2019, 10:39 Probably Anthony J. Haha. I think you are taking this topic a little too seriously. I’m just joking around cause others suggested it was gay. That’s why I mentioned Gilberto Ramirez. Physiques have less to do with power than you may realize.
Tyson, Bose, Holmes, Frazier, and even Ali did not have imposing physiques. Other have shown unreal physiques but that rarely translates to boxing success. In the Lower weights, some of the most murderous punchers in history looked like malnourished twigs (eg zarate, hearns, etc )

Re: Large heavyweights Best looking physic
Plenty people turned out to see the 80s and 90s incarnation of George Foreman, despite his somewhat flabby girth.
Hard to imagine that fans actually come to watch Joshua because his body is more esthetically pleasing than other heavyweights.
Or that Fury has no fan base because he looks soft. Or that people supposedly ignore Wilder because he's lighter than most and has thin legs.
Are you sure? Would a serious fan even care about these factors?
If you can fight and are entertaining, fans will turn out.
Re: Large heavyweights Best looking physic
Fury entertaining !! Inside or outside the ring ?
Fury fighting style is boring and i look in better shape than fury, but not in better shape. I think wilder is more entertaining in the ring than joushua. I love when he goes crazy, you can call it wind mill or whatever, bad thing he started his career late.
