Gassiev is recovering from Shoulder surgery and is expected to hit the HW ranks last I heard. Hasn't fought since losing to Usyk.

Don't overlook Andrew Tabiti who fights Dorticos June 15th.

That's right. I can't really see Gassiev impacting the top level at heavyweight though.

Me neither, but it would be tremendously ironic if he actualizes more success at HW then Usyk.

If he (Gassiev) is clever, he will not move up till 2022/23 (he should try to become the undisputed CW champion), but if he really moves soon, he might be among the top ten HW very soon.
Usyk ? The sky is limit.

Lebedev is having 1 final fight. Hardly gonna take over the division is he?

Briedis is a small HW, I have a feeling we may see him sliding up and down.. might be some decent fights at HW for him.

He could rematch Usyk at HW in maybe 3-4 years?

Maybe I do the man an injustice but to me Gassiev is a physical fighter, he relies on power, strength, and durability. He could do that at cruiserweight but he's going to find at heavyweight there are bigger, stronger, more powerful fighters and his punches just won't have the same effect.

Usyk's advantage is that he doesn't rely on physicality other than his speed and stamina which will be assets that won't be less effective at the higher weight. He relies on his technique and his manoeuvrability which are assets that will be magnified by facing slower lumbering guys who propogate the heavier weight class. As you say the sky is the limit but the question is will Usyk be able to fly?

Briedis was likely to be the best CW, but his last performances were poor. I pick Glowacki to win him.

Gassiev could have been the one, but it's said, he moves up.

Dorticos is too one-deminsional for that. I pick Tabiti to win.

Lebedev is past it and will probably retire soon.

I guess, The Super Series winner will be No. 1 Cruiser. And right now I'm not sure, who it will be. For the current moment I rate Glowacki and Tabiti as the best guys. However, I can be wrong about Briedis.

why is almost retired Lebedev on the list but no Głowacki?

if Gassiev will move to HW, it gonna be either Briedis, Głowacki or Dorticos - the one who will win the WBSS.

the best prospects in CW now are Tabiti, Goulamirian, Cieślak and Okolie (though i really don't like his style) but for now i don't see them defeating any the top 3 fighters.
