parker isnt much better then chisora, i dont know why so many act like parker is levels above anyone in the top 15. he couldve easily lost to fat boi ruiz. hes got very nice hand speed, possibly the best in the division, and good combos, but is not a smart fighter, seems to be bothered by rough stuff, and is stiff legged.

He's not levels above but he is competitive with most if not all outside the top three. He's a tough out.

maybe, but del was just as competitive with whyte and also beat takam. and ruiz gave him serious problems. and he could hardly land on hughie. ortiz and dubouis blew out cojanu and gorman prob actually won more rounds then parker did. hes lower top 10 but theres no half decent contender who hes much better then

ya and lose pretty much every round fighting in survival, id give him more credit if hed actually been fighting to win and scoring well consistently. i hate those type of negative efforts where the guys 'victory' is just to survive.

i have much more respect for povs showing vs aj

No one ever accused Parker of being great, but he's comfortably better than Chisora.

Chisora does better against brawlers and aggressive types, not so well against boxers.

Chisora made Agit Kabayel look like Muhammad Ali, so Parker would have little trouble outslicking Chisora.

hed probably beat chis but hes not comfortably better at all. he easily couldve gotten an l vs andy ruiz and he did no better vs whyte then chisora did. his biggest win might be takam and chisora knocked takam out. del has lots of losses but his opposition has been excellent.

parkers decent, but a consistently overrated fighter

Parker is Open To Face Chisora in July if The Money is Right

Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker is trying to secure the best possible deal for a showdown with Derek Chisora.

The fight had been discussed earlier this year, but they were unable to reach an agreement. Now the fight is back in the mix, as both sides are once again in talks for a showdown. Chisora will first take on Senad Gashi as part of a Matchroom card on April 20.

"Joseph will fight anyone, if it's the right money and the right terms, so absolutely he would fight Chisora," Parker's promoter David Higgins told Sky Sports. "It's up to [promoter Eddie Hearn] to make a deal that's attractive. There have been [discussions], and that's a fight we're planning for July."

Parker, 27-years-old, was riding a very strong unbeaten run until last year, when he suffered back to back defeats to Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte,

Higgins is planning to sit down with all of the big players in sport, to see which of them has the best deal for his fighter.

"It's very simple. My job is to get the best deal possible for Parker, and it's halcyon times in boxing with massive money flowing. Basically I'm going to have a pretty frank conversation with the major players and see who will put the best deal on the table for Joseph," Higgins said.

"Monday in LA and then London maybe, it depends. If [promoter Bob Arum] puts an offer on the table that we cannot refuse, we might do the deal. But, that being said, Eddie Hearn has been great to work with. Arum has been fairly good too. The only one I haven't worked with is Al Haymon, but we're basically going to have a sit down with all the major players, see who will put the best offer on the table.

"Eddie is one of the best promoters I have worked with, so if he put in a good offer, no problem. It could go the other way though, because I think we can attract some interest out of America at the same time. [Parker] wants to fight in July, so I am going to have serious meetings and see who puts the best offer on the table. I'll work with any of them."

His camp has stated he's interested in a lot of guys. Usyk; Chisora; Whyte; Povetkin.

THey need to make a fight that's significant to get back into the picture. Whyte also needs to make a fight. That's the one I can see happening. Makes the most sense for Parker and whyte is desperate.

It's up to Parker what he does with his career, but I don't see the point in targetting Chisora.

He'd be better off going after Whyte, especially as Whyte seems to be at a loose end.

His fight with Whyte was pretty entertaining and I swear that if the fight was 20 seconds longer, he might just have KO'd Dillian.

x2. He needs this to start a real comeback. Parker vs Whyte seems logical given Whyte's lack of opponents to choose from and Parker's need to resurrect his career starting with someone who he lost to in a close fight. Beating Whyte would thrust Parker back into the thick of things.

Del Boy is one dimensional and even more so this weekend. Parker will look good disposing of him in style. If anything Parker has speed and Del Boy is starting to look like the Donkey Whyte slates him for. Parker stops him late imo

Chisora is another seriously boring heavyweight. If you watched him against Fury and have tuned in for another one of his matches since, you are more forgiving than I am. A horrible watch.

Joseph Parker doesn't fear Derek Chisora and welcomes a summer showdown, says David Higgins

"Joe will fight anyone," Higgins told Sky Sports. "He will certainly fight Derek Chisora, it's just a matter of agreeing terms. It's the same as April, we just need to close a deal, and that fight can happen.

"Joseph respects Chisora, but I don't think he fears him. Chisora on his day does take a punch, he's knocked a few people out over the years, so you can never take anyone for granted.

"I think it will be an interesting fight that the fans will appreciate seeing.

"The goal will be to knock Chisora out."

Chisora's manager David Haye had previously suggested that his fighter remained open to a clash with Parker.

"From our side, it can be made very, very easily," Haye had told Sky Sports.

"Joseph Parker is a great fighter. He's a friend of mine, he's used my gym in the past when he's been over here.

"I think that fight in the summer is great. Joseph Parker is the perfect opponent for Derek."

Any further updates on this? Seems to have gone quiet.

Or any word if and when Parker is due to return?

We know Chisora has been offered Joyce yet again.

Another thread said Joyce has put offers out to Parker & Chisora. If true, I would imagine Joyce would be a more favorable opponent for Parker in the UK

Joyce v Parker on BT would likely need to be PPV - as Parker would be looking for decent monies and can’t see basic BT card paying say 1m for that clash alone.
