Primo Carnera inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Legacy Wing

If any boxing fans should know that former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Primo Carnera was inducted into the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame under the Legacy Wing because he wrestled nearly 150 wrestling matches after his boxing career was over. His only lost in the professional wrestling match was to WWE Hall of Famer Lou Thesz, who was inducted under the Legacy Wing back in 2016. Even though he was inducted into the Wrestling Hall of Fame, Carnera was still not inducted by the International Boxing Hall of Fame, which was odd and there were many things that went against Carnera from inducted into the Hall of Fame of his original combat sport that involved allege match fixes. Hope Carnera gets inducted in the IBHOF under the Old-Timer category despite being under the possible influence from the mob. What do you guys think?

I don't see what legacy/impact Carnera added to the sport to warrant induction. At best he was an average fighter and less than average champion.

Carnera was the Andre & Goldberg of his era. Most people don't pay attention to past history. He had a long win streak in wrestling. He was an attraction wherever he went in wrestling feuding with Freddie Blassie, Gorgeous George, Argentina Rocca, etc. So it's well warranted his HOF spot in the WWE. Before MMA was even a thing, he held a unique distinction of being one of the very few individuals to have been a champion of two different sports. Yes, wrestling is predetermined, but he had far and away more success in wrestling than Max Baer, Tony Galento, and others who tried their hand at it.

Thank goodness the "Selection Committee" recognized Carnera's contributions and took a hard look at his win/loss record.

I heard that there were rumours that some of Carnera's wrestling matches were not fixed. I think that to nominate him to the Hall of Fame in these circumstances casts a dark shadow over all the honest wrestlers who would never step into a ring without knowing who is going to win.
