It's hard to tell, he's a great fighter with nobody to fight.

Nice fight, berchelt us underrated to the point that he dominates a fight and it's recalled as a war.

Well, at least Lomachenko did what he was supposed to do in this crappy fight. He should target Commey for summer, because that fight is easy to make, Commey is strong, tough and has belt. If he can handle that, make big fight with Berchelt late this year. Then chase big fights with Davis and Garcia in 2020.

BTW what is the situation with WBC 135 belt?

Crolla looked like a straight up tomato can. I didn't expect anything from him, but still. He didn't belong in the same ring. Hopefully Loma is back to facing legitimate opponents after this.

Talking about predictions. I'll speak for myself. That's mine above. But later I picked Loma by KO in the 8th in PTBF thread. And I even put 2X. That's how cool I am! However, still not the most accurate stuff, as it ended two times faster.

Anthony Crolla adopted an appalling gameplan against Vasyl Lomachenko.

The Brit was extremely tentative and hesitant from the opening bell. He moronically attempted to outbox possibly the most pugilistically skilled pound-for-pound boxer on the planet.

Crolla made no attempt whatsoever to exploit his size advantage to crowd, smother and rough-up Lomachenko.

Instead, Anthony chose to fight at an overly cautious and sedate pace, as well as employing lateral movement to constantly circle away from the Ukraine from the opening bell onwards. Simply put: he ran!

Lomachenko was allowed to dismantle Crolla and unleash his combinations at will, safe in the knowledge that his opponent wouldn’t return fire.

It was obvious that Crolla was a beaten fighter prior to entering the ring.

The ref was incompetent also, because this isn’t the amateur ranks, he should have stopped the fight instead of administering a standing eight count. Crolla was on the receiving end of more than twenty unanswered punches. The ropes didn’t prevent a knockdown during the third round. So why wasn’t the fight stopped?

Don’t get me wrong, Vasyl Lomachenko is a fantastic fighter and would’ve beaten a prime version of Anthony Crolla, but the Brits’ lack of ambition last night almost certainly flattered the Ukraine’s performance.

I’m a huge fan of Vasyl Lomachenko, but I can’t praise him for beating a fighter that possessed no ambition whatsoever. There’s nothing impressive about beating an opponent that made no attempt to put up any sort of resistance.

It seemed that Anthony Crolla was simply collecting a pay-cheque and had already resigned himself to conceding defeat well before he had even considered stepping foot into the ring.

Vasyl Lomachenko beat an appalling fighter last night. All the other world-rated fighters competing in the same weight division would have easily beaten the very same utterly dire version of Anthony Crolla.

..I'm not a fan of "would have, could have" kind of analyses...Crolla did what he was allowed to do by Loma and was KOed as a result...

Yeah. He (Loma) showed why he is the best or second best p4p today. Thorough demolition job.

Crolla is a former champion. He's not crap in any way, shape, or form. He was, as expected, hopelessly outclassed by Lomachenko who was clearly out to make a statement. I prefer to attribute this destruction job to the superb quality of Loma rather than bad -mouth a respectable fighter who was way short of Loma's level.

It's hard to be sure because of the lack of competitive fights (except the one he lost obviously) but I strongly suspect based on what my eyes tell me, that Loma is the best fighter in the world right now.

They (Loma and Crolla) should not have shared the same ring. The ref could have stopped this mismatch earlier.

ya a lot of ppl saying stuff like crolla shoulda never been let in the ring, shame on anyone who made the fight, etc....but really there are a lot worse challengers all the time.

problem is there isnt much interesting for loma at lw. i mean crolla really add nothing to his standing even though i dont think crolla was nearly bad as suggested.

the big 3 opponents for loma are berchelt, mikey, and tank. i think berchelts the onlly reaslistic one at the moment, and i think its very realistic since both with top rank. commey also top rank associated i think and has a belt and is a big guy and so might be a bit interesting and add something in taking loma closer to undisputed

at the very minimum, loma should fight one of commey or berchelt this year, and the other next year. theyve been pretty regular in matching loma with someone good after a weak opponent or two, so im still pretty confident well see him in something interesting soon

I read that Crawford quickly emerged after the fight to declare himself still boxing's best

He gets so easily ruffled and insulted if anyone dares suggest that there might be superior P4P fighters.

Simple question, who else could have done that to Anthony Crolla?

Crolla himself acknowledged that Lomachenko was way better than he thought, and he already thought pretty highly of him beforehand.

Any doubts I had, mainly about Crolla being the bigger man, disappeared almost immediately.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you have to recognise pugilistic greatness when you see it.

Lomachenko's record so far is unmatched and comparable only to Sugar Ray Robinson's.

The sweet science indeed.

I agree with that up until the Ray Robinson comparison. I fully accept Loma is a wonderful fighter but he's 13 and 1. I don't think you can compare his record to Robinson's at this stage. Robinson too was no stranger to defeat but of course that's what happens when you consistently take on the best in an era that's full of extremely talented fighters.

Ray Robinson spent 25 years fighting and outclassing some of boxing's most storied legends.

That's how he earned his reputation.

Lomachenko beats up Anthony Crolla and the Robinson comparisons come out of the woodwork.

I don't recall such lofty praise when Loma was dropped and at times struggled with Linares.

Or even when he went 12 and took a routine decision over Tank victim Pedraza.

Many opined that Loma had reached his ceiling at lightweight and was beatable.

But now Loma looks great against an ordinary fighter, Crolla, and some are willing to elevate him to GOAT status.

Get a grip. There's plenty historic lightweights who would be favored over Lomachenko.

But suddenly he's the greatest fighter ever?
