My partners watching this with me - she’s pretty excited. I’m hoping it won’t be a clinch festival and or a robbery. However am pretty confident it will go to decision.

shields sure doesnt have the athletic talent of power. dropped no one so far and couldnt stop 6 fighters worse then hammer. id be surprised if shields stopped her quick

Shields was saying that’s why women never get stoppage wins and they could use that extra minute.

So many fights where male boxers work down an opponent for 2 mins and finally KO an opponent in the final minute. It probably is needed.
you can still do plenty damage over 20 mins of fighting, if you cant drop anyone in that time you simply cant punch

Hannah Rankin has fought Shields and sparred "hundreds of rounds" with Hammer.
Good pundit - let's see who she picks...

No.

She looked pretty powerful tbf.
Hammer won the first on nice outside boxing.
Shields hurt Hammer in the 2nd had her backing up, then pulled away to win wide.

Hammer woulda struggled to GTD with 12x3.

Haha

No knockdowns but you could see the shots were having an effect. It looked like The power was respectable enough but not enough to drop or more. Don’t think any of those ladies could walk through it.

The main story was her ability. She landed clean mostly and was pretty decent defensively. She completely dominated the champ. Impressive performance for her.

Fight was predictable.

Shields' Olympic pedigree and speed advantage leads to a one sided decision.

She showed some pretty nifty defensive skills. Hammer had trouble connecting solidly.

Shields did punch hard enough to have Hammer tying up frequently when she was rattled.

But power is irrelevant. Getting the W is all that's important.

Shields got the W convincingly.

if the ladies had more power id bet more people would watch it. basically every womens boxing match turns into the type of fight boxing fans bitch about when the men do it. it will never boom when it is so boring.

no one beating queen pillowhands shield anytime soon

It was pretty crap tbf.
Hammer wasn't as good as billed.

The best thing about tonight was Hannah Rankin on the commentary.

Maybe Hammer is as good as billed.

She's just not nearly as good as Claressa Shields.

slightly over shadowed by the "excellent" decision on the GBP card but it was a decent scrap Shields is a talented woman!

Lol, I forgot this was on in the end.

So is there anything interesting to have come out of this? Eg, is anyone talking about braekhus moving up to challenge shields? Maybe that isn’t of note either, but isn’t brakekhus supposed to be the p4p girl ?
