Arum karma?
Loma is quality - that isn't being debated just wanted to know what you think of Arum banging on about the Mikey Garcia bout...
The same promoter who arguably took vital years from Garcia's prime (lighter fighters peak faster in my eyes) - is actively trying to make this fight with him - out of principle I think Mikey shouldn't do business with that man.
I'm not inside boxing so probably have a very naive view, what do you guys feel?

I agree Team Mikey Garcia should not do business with Arum they only want the fight now because they are banking on Mikey being damaged goods after the beat down he took against Spence Jr.

Re: Arum karma?
I wouldn't presume to tell Garcia whether or not to do business with Arum.
If an offer is lucrative enough and Garcia is personally okay with it, then fine.
It might be Arum but it also figures to be the best purse Garcia can earn at this point.
That in itself can heal a few old wounds.
Of course it might turn out to be a no-go regardless if Garcia is unable to whittle down to 135 again.

After Garcia's loss to Spence do you think Loma would consider facing Mikey at 140?SenorPipino wrote: ↑15 Apr 2019, 21:46 I wouldn't presume to tell Garcia whether or not to do business with Arum.

Not the way Klimas and Lomachenko's father were talking last year when the subject of fighting Pacquiao at 140 came up.Best Coast wrote: ↑15 Apr 2019, 22:10 After Garcia's loss to Spence do you think Loma would consider facing Mikey at 140?
They were pretty adamant that Loma is not going up to 140. And wasn't Lomachenko recently even mulling the possibility of returning to 130?
I think a Loma-Garcia fight is out the window.
Garcia will return sometime this year at 140. But he has his mind set on erasing the embarrassment of the Spence fight, by returning to 147 and proving he can hang with other name welterweights.
Lightweight is in his past.

Typical promoter, he knows Garcia will never do business with him again and he knows how little he has to offer loma. Hell be going on about bud/Spence this week for the same reason.

Pac v Mikey makes business sense.

Mikey vs Danny Garcia could be a decent matchup, but I think Mikey would do much better staying at 140.

Re: Arum karma?
Mikey should try to become Loma’s mandatory challenger and force a purse bid, with one of the PBC promoters winning the rights to televise that bout on Fox or Showtime. This will completely remove Bob Arum from the equation.kbackup408 wrote: ↑13 Apr 2019, 03:02I'm not inside boxing so probably have a very naive view, what do you guys feel?
I’d expect Mikey Garcia to be deeply frustrated about his promotional conflict with Top Rank wasting 2½ years of his career due to inactivity, potentially costing him tens of millions of dollars’ worth of missed opportunities that he may have been able to exploit during his physical prime.
It’s strange that Bob Arum seems immune from receiving criticism from fight fans, even though Top Rank is regularly at conflict with some of his own fighters.

Honestly pal it frustrates me, being in a court battle is not only mentally draining but it honestly impacts your health (not to mention the constant fluctuations in mood)Enlightened-One wrote: ↑16 Apr 2019, 04:31 Mikey should try to become Loma’s mandatory challenger and force a purse bid, with one of the PBC promoters winning the rights to televise that bout on Fox or Showtime. I often just think if i was told I can't do my 9-5 for 2.5 years, what will I do? Out of principle I will not do business with that man I completely agree with your purse bid comment!

it is mate I guess you have to make your £/$ but out of principale would you take a huge chunk of money from a promoter who messed you about for 30 months?sturm vogel wrote: ↑15 Apr 2019, 23:24 Whatever pays the most in the least amount of time. The ONLY reason to fight at all.

It’s not a bad way for Mikey to get “revenge”

I always see Danny Garcia as a good opponent for Pacquiao.Best Coast wrote: ↑16 Apr 2019, 02:10 Hadnt heard that about Klimas & Loma's dad nixing a fight at 140...thanks!!

Garcia, especially since he moved to 147, is very economical with his punches and fights at a measured pace.
That's the kind of style the 40 year old Pacquiao can still handle. He doesn't want a busy, aggressive guy who will wear him down.
Even the green Jeff Horn busted up Pacquiao with his physical attack.
