Eddie Hearn, promoter of WBA/IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, said on social media that Joshua’s next opponent Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller has failed a random drug test. “We have been informed by VADA that there has been an adverse finding in Jarrell Miller’s sample collected on March 20th, 2019. We are working with all relevant parties and will update with more details soon. AJ’s preparation continues for June 1st at MSG,” he tweeted.
Reportedly Miller tested positive for the banned substance GW1516. The Joshua camp would have to find a new challenger for Joshua if Miller is suspended. The fight is slated for June 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York City so a new opponent would have about six weeks to prepare.

Re: Joshua vs Miller in Jeopardy After Miller Fails VADA Test
Let’s take a quick look at some of the accusations Jarrell Miller recently made about Anthony Joshua:
“This motherfúcker has TUE test exemptions for testosterone and all kinds of shít,” Miller said. “I have been doing my research, who comes out of the Olympics at 220lbs and goes to 240lbs in a year?”
Miller, keen to ramp up mutual animosity with Joshua, said: “I study every opponent. My dad was a bodybuilder growing up; you can see it. I look at someone and I say, he’s on steroids. Anybody who comes out of the amateurs at 220lbs and then is 240lbs in a year, there’s something wrong with that picture.
“There’s no way you’re going to put on 20lbs of muscle within a year without taking some kind of supplement. It’s impossible. I know bodybuilders train all year round, non-stop, and don’t put on that amount of muscle.
"Nobody could have put on 20-pounds between winning the Olympics and his first pro fight the way Joshua did without taking something. Impossible. We’ve busted our balls to get full testing for 10 weeks to make sure he’s clean before June 1. We’ve covered the bases. If he’s been taking performance-enhancing drugs I couldn’t care less now. I’ve studied him. His physique, his power, his stamina," Miller said.
"Since he won his titles his body’s slimmed down and he’s only really knocked out opponents who backed away. There’s not the same strength and stamina. Klitschko pushed for testing. In what subjects did Wladimir and Vitali get their PHDs? Sports medicine. Why did people who know everything about physics of the body want Joshua to test every other week? They pushed on that but settled a bit to make the fight."
For the record, Jarrell Miller gained 21lbs within 5½ months, between the Mariusz Wach and Johann Duhaupas bouts. Five months later, he gained another 13lbs for the Tomasz Adamek fight.
What do you think of the video? Miller clearly didn't put of bodyfat, did he?

Re: Joshua vs Miller in Jeopardy After Miller Fails VADA Test
It's a pretty sorry state of affairs when you review both The RING and ESPN heavyweight rankings and you realise that half of the top-ten ranked fighters listed have previously tested positive for banned substances (i.e. Tyson Fury, Dillian Whyte, Luis Ortiz, Alexander Povetkin and Jarrell Miller).
And just because some of the others have yet to fail tests, it doesn't necessarily mean they're all clean.

No, but it is proof that random drug testing is working. But unfortunately also proof that the punishments aren't acting as any kind of deterrent.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑17 Apr 2019, 09:52 It's a pretty bad state of affairs when you review both The RING and ESPN heavyweight rankings and you realise that half of the fighters listed have previously tested positive for banned substances (i.e. Tyson Fury, Dillian Whyte, Luis Ortiz, Alexander Povetkin and Jarrell Miller).

Clean fighters trying to get into the top 10 (and to the big money fights) will not be getting good signals from all this. Not until the punishments get stronger, much stronger. In fact they may even see all this as evidence that PED use is necessary to get to the top.
Until then we will have to keep seeing what imaginative excuses the cheats have up the sleeve just for these occasions.
'Spiked drinks', 'Wild Boar testicles', Mexican beef', 'nasal sprays', 'cough medicine' etc etc.

Re: Joshua vs Miller in Jeopardy After Miller Fails VADA Test
It gets worse though, because Miller and Povetkin have both tested positive twice. It's not as if getting caught bothers these guys. Bermane Stiverne failed his test, but was still instated as the WBC's mandatory challenger without needing to compete in a fight since his failed drug test.Thomastearns wrote: ↑17 Apr 2019, 10:15 No, but it is proof that random drug testing is working. The fat mofo got exposed. He was accusing AJ of juicing at the presser and, of course, he was right, but eventually it was him, who didn't pass the test. Probably juiced his burgers instead of adding ketchup.

What an idiot. He risked the biggest payday of his career and maybe even his whole career. Doping gives you less than a 5% edge. It is no substitute for hard work and intense training. There is no "take a pill and turn into superman" sort of doping. I know boxing is a sport where it's participants get hit in the head a lot, but I'm still amazed about how stupid some of them are.

..not Joshua's fault of course but wasn't he supposed to "conquer" the States...Hunter being the only American on the list and barely known too, I would assume..

..could be, but that won't make him any more popular there..
Re: Joshua vs Miller in Jeopardy After Miller Fails VADA Test
Ortiz may not be able to be ready in time so that's the issue there.
Kownacki is managed by Keith Connely who did the Danny Jacobs deal with Matchroom so the relationship is there to make this fight. Kownacki has no promotional affiliation.
Michael Hunter is less preferred but is with Matchroom and is scheduled to fight the week before this card.

Easily! New York is full of them. And I'm not joking either. Apparently 120,000 of them live there, excluding tourists. I was there the week before Christmas and bumped into loads of them whilst attending shows, shopping, eating, drinking, hotel etc.

Just to add - the stuff alleged to have shown up is GW501516.
It was an experimental drug used for cutting weight and treating heart disease.
The project got abandoned when they tested it on rats and found "the drug caused cancer to develop rapidly in several organs",
