Re: Joshua-Miller in jeopardy after Big Baby fails drug test
That’s that fight up the Swanny then
Re: Joshua-Miller in jeopardy after Big Baby fails drug test
I've heard Pulev and Charr are both on standby.

Parker has put his hat in the ring.
It needs to be someone, it's too big a show to cancel.
At this notice they can get away with a lower ranked opponent.
Ideally an American but who is there? Ruiz,, Ortiz, Hunter Arrolla?

The only other big fight I'd want to see on the date is Usyk. Whyte hasn't been training for this and it's too short notice.

Joshua saying he has been subject to the ADAMS testing regime since 2011 and pays VADA £40k a fight for twice weekly testing in camp.
Re: Joshua-Miller in jeopardy after Big Baby fails drug test
Ruiz is due to fight Dimitrenko on Saturday. Maybe Sascha will accept a load of cash to let Ruiz fight AJ.
Re: Joshua-Miller in jeopardy after Big Baby fails drug test
Luis Ortiz would be better than the original.

All sounds good. Does he get tested when he is not in camp and does he get therapeutic use exemptions for anything and, if so, what and since when?

Decent shout. And six weeks is three times as long as he usually prepares for a bout.

Look, it's clear what the best option is. There's long been a history of great champions at lighter weights stepping up to seek the heavyweight title, from Fitzsimmons to Holyfield and beyond. So, straight from the WBA cruiserweight rankings, it has to be Beibut Shumenov. Everything is right about this one, for the following reasons:
- he's got nothing scheduled.
- he'd be seeking his third world title in three different weight divisions. Great story.
- he's truly a triple threat, as he boxes. manages and promotes himself (or at least has done in the past, I believe). If he is still doing all of that, he will surely be easy to negotiate with (and will probably do the legal work himself, and make the tea).
- he could co-promote to take some of the burden off Matchroom.
Failing that, if we are looking for a multi-division WBA champion seeking another title, what does Leo Gamez weigh these days?
So many good options.

Ortiz probably stays in shape all the time given his age. Pulev acceptable but if Hughie Fury rocked him you would fancy AJ to stop him in 3 or 4 rounds.

I think somehow this contest goes ahead, probably with Miller accepting a lower fee

I think you are probably right, most fighters are on the gear these days.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑17 Apr 2019, 11:58 I think somehow this contest goes ahead, probably with Miller accepting a lower fee
