Manny Stewart said ‘Superbad’ Mays was the best amateur he ever trained. Despite him being a full blown alcoholic by his mid teens. The light had faded by the time he turned pro and like Wee Benny died his early 30s. The great ‘What If’.

Johnny Tapia wasted arguably the three and a bit best years of his career due to cocaine/alcohol addiction. Was more sniff than peeve with him tho.

I’m 40 and had my first drink age 15. If I hadn’t , you’d never have heard of Floyd Mayweather :TU:

Jason and Nicky Booth, Scott Harrison, Eamonn Magee.

But they could all keep off it for a chunk of time.

Alan Minter was hitting it hard when I met him. Kevin Finnegan to boot. Michael Hunter used to like his pop but kept off it mainly in camp.
