It'a just a lesson for Whyte to know his real place (and price) in boxing. Sure he will be much more adequate with his money-wishes for Jo0shua fight win or loss

How can #1 vs #10 be a final elimination?

Well. It said winner would be in line to challenge for the belt.tiny_acres wrote: ↑20 Apr 2019, 19:01 How can #1 vs #10 be a final elimination?

Does that officially make this a final eliminator? Not being sarcastic.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑20 Apr 2019, 19:02 Well. It said winner would be in line to challenge for the belt.
It's just they have the weirdest rules on this
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Oscar Rivas - 20 July 2019
Rivas is rubbish.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Oscar Rivas - 20 July 2019
Just looked him up on Boxrec. Somebody tell me about the Jennings TKO so I don't have to watch it.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Oscar Rivas - 20 July 2019
Watch the last round. Close fight with Rivas turning it on in the last round to stop Jennings.clopixolacuphase wrote: ↑20 Apr 2019, 20:01 Just looked him up on Boxrec. Somebody tell me about the Jennings TKO so I don't have to watch it.

Better things to do in the middle of summer on a July's Saturday night to waste 20 quid or whatever buying this on PPV. Thought it was a joke when they announced Whyte's opponent last night, just shows how short they are of credible heavyweight challengers at the moment
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Oscar Rivas - 20 July 2019
I like this fight. It's not a gimme, and I could see Rivas pulling it out. I'd still favor Whyte.tony1234 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2019, 11:42 Better things to do in the middle of summer on a July's Saturday night to waste 20 quid or whatever buying this on PPV. Not sure why this fight is getting hate, Rivas is probably the best available fighter and he is coming off a good win.
PPV is always going to piss people off, but as long as the card has four or five good competitive fights I will probably pay for it (but then I am a bit of a mug).

It’s not a bad fight, but no way is it a PPV fight. Anyone dropping 20 quid on this is crazy.

Definitely a good fight.
Whyte previous opponents go like this.
Browne
Parker
Chisora II
Rivas
Add a few names like Helenius, Chisora I..
It’s not bad at all.
——
All this PPV nonsense is just making Whyte greedy and thinking he’s worth more. As long as he keeps winning, his fights will be PPV.
Sky are in need of another PPV star. They have got one now.

agree, an unbeaten olympian (beat pulev in the games) coming off one of the best recent wins in the division. rivas has a better win then fury, wilder, and likely ajs next opponents haskeirw wrote: ↑22 Apr 2019, 05:58 Not sure why this fight is getting hate, Rivas is probably the best available fighter and he is coming off a good win.

this is a perfectly fine fight. i get ppl not wanting it on ppv, but calling it outright 'rubbish' etc is nonsense.

I bet Swiss Tony is sat at home now thinking 'How the hell am i going to sell this as a PPV'.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Oscar Rivas - 20 July 2019
I think it's a borderline PPV. Rivas doesn't get the respect he deserves. While I initially favor Whyte, I wouldn't be surprised if Rivas were to win. He hits really hard and boxes decently. And maybe he's short, but he's not small, usually fighting mid 230's.

No matter what has happened.
None of it makes sense.
1 vs 2 or 3 vs 4 at least makes some sense.
But all of this arbitrary crap they pill is as frustrating to the fans as it is the fighters

Rivas is shit. Whyte is no great shakes either but in a different League. Terrible fight.

Not sure why you would say that, Rivas is pretty good. This will be a good fight.jtourettes wrote: ↑23 Apr 2019, 11:46 Rivas is poo. Whyte is no great shakes either but in a different League. Terrible fight.

Rivas was about to follow Alvarez, by signing a multi-fight co-promotional agreement with with ESPN and Top Rank.
Both Rivas and Alvarez are promoted in Canada by Yvon Michel of GYM.
If Rivas would have signed the deal, he would have returned on June 15th in Las Vegas, as part of the undercard to Tyson Fury's fight with Tom Schwarz.
But then he received a very lucrative offer, from promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, to fight top contender Dillian Whyte in a high profile fight on July 20th at the O2 Arena in London. The contest will be carried by streaming service DAZN, and on pay-per-view in the UK through Sky Sports Box Office.
The offer to face Whyte is reportedly worth over $1 million.
"I was a little lucky. My manager Stephane Lepine was about to have the [Top Rank] papers in hand for me to sign them," said Rivas to The Montreal Journal.
"However, my promoter Yvon Michel told him to wait for a few days before completing them. He mentioned that certain things are moving and that I could receive an interesting offer."
After his victory against Jennings, Rivas had mentioned that his right shoulder had been hurting him for a few weeks.
"Rest and physiotherapy treatments did me a lot of good," said Rivas. "I am comfortable now. I have no worries about my next training camp. I'll be able to push the machine all the way."

Decent contest and not a foregone conclusion.
I’m expecting Whyte to win but he will work for it.
