The present day Amir Khan ,similarly to David Haye latterly, were finished as top level fighters but they continued to talk a good game in order to sell further money making fights.
I don't have a problem with that providing they don't get permanently hurt as a consequence.
Its down to individual fans if they're prepared to pay money to watch washed up boxers get thumped.
Personally I don't pay up because I can see through the nonsense. In fact I benefitted financially from betting on Bellew and Crawford.
It only remains now for the publicity to begin for a Khan v Brook late summer fight. This fight should now be a 10pm ITV fight ( without PPV) for the British or Commonwealth title -that's the level both are now at. But of course it won't. The publicity machine will start and it'll be PPV. If people are prepared to spend their money on washed up fighters then so be it. ( it would actually be a good 'Town Hall' fight though !!).
Khan and Haye -fair enough ?
Re: Khan and Haye -fair enough ?
For me both Haye, and Benn also, after explosive careers went out with a damp squib.
I don't begrudge them the payday but it was sad to see. Maybe for them too, both proud warriors, I dunno how much they needed the money but of course they have to live with those performances too.

Benn did his whole weight for Collins in a sauna.Coco wrote: ↑21 Apr 2019, 05:58 For me both Haye, and Benn also, after explosive careers went out with a damp squib.

I had half a thought that Khan could have done well, I certainly expected him to be competitive while it lasted.
Of course he was fighting a great fighter but I think the Khan of old would have given him a decent fight like he did against Alvarez.
Unfortunately this demonstrates to me that he has gone back, let's see now if he wants to pick up some more paydays, quit or maybe have an easy one to finish like Hamed did.

To be fair it's about levels. Read the posts on here NO ONE, and I mean no one, was calling Haye shot vs De Mori . Indeed the calls were Haye vs Joshua.
Same with Khan before the Vargas fight with that 90 second ko...we were all saying he's back and so his speed.

I did call Haye shot at that time.
But reality is I just didn't like him
But you are correct so many were giving Haye a good chance against Joshua
Re: Khan and Haye -fair enough ?
I thought that AJ was too big for Haye, and while Haye might have been past his best I would have bet my mortgage that he would have blown Bellew away, esp when I saw Bellew at the weigh in.
My opinion was that they were giving Haye a high profile easy night to build up the Joshua fight.

If you can talk and sell yourself and self-promote then good on you. Haye is/was very good at it.
