If you want to believe I hate 'he who shall not be criticized', go right ahead, I'm getting so I'm past caring but the truth is what I've always claimed it to be: I like him very much in the ring. He's a poor boxer but a very good fighter. He has proved to me (mainly against Ortiz) that he doesn't lack heart and he has a good chin. He can absorb a good shot or a sustained shellacking. His combination of supreme power and vulnerability make him compulsive viewing. There are few fighters I find more compelling

Outside the ring I dislike him. He accuses Joshua of cowardice when he has no intention of facing him. He thinks It's funny to keep Dillian Whyte away from the title shot he has clearly earned for two years. His opponents are hand picked by Haymon with the collusion of the WBC. He's not an easy man to like.

One thing I will say though. Although I've been accused of hating Wilder many times, to the best of my knowledge no one has ever accused me who is not American.

I'm basically a very honest person. If I hated Wilder I'd have no problem with saying so. I 'hate' (dislike intensely ) Don King, I'm getting to feel the same way about Al Haymon and Maurizio Sulaiman. No problem admitting that so why not Wilder? Answer: I will be sad when he retires as I will Povetkin, Ortiz, and so forth because you can never have too many world level heavyweights. I could never hate a top heavyweight ... or at least I can't imagine it.

See Whyte has taken another big risk in signing to fight Rivas but even if he wins again he won't be any nearer to a Wilder fight. Everyone has a gimmick. Wilder is trying to find his. I don't know his deal, but I am growing more and more distant from him given his ridiculous remarks of late.
