What was this guys story? He was unbeaten as a pro in 29 fights, but never really fought at top level. was there a reason he gave up? or did he just drift away from the sport?

He promoted his own fights I think..

Maybe he is still a promoter.

Did well - unbeaten - but not the best opposition..

From what I remember, he did promote a lot of his own fights, and of course picked his own opponents. He was/is a decent pro, and a "world" champion" (WBF middleweight champion). He used to appear at our white-collar boxing shows a lot, and is a thoroughly nice fella too.

I remember an article BM did on him, I think he knew his level... Definately British top ten material but he never (from what I remember) called out the British champ or make an audacious claims to fight for a World title (depsite I'm sure being in the top 15 with one of the big four).

I remember there was a muted fight with Ryan Rhodes, but then he seemed to dissapear from fighting- not sure if this was the reason.

I think he walked away because he was knocking on a bit, wasn't he 40 when he last fought?
