Crawford’s Trainer: F*** That; Not Fighting Brook In England

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Terence Crawford’s trainer/manager is “fine” with Crawford facing another former champion from England in his next fight.

If Crawford and Kell Brook are to meet, though, Brian McIntyre made it clear that fight for Crawford’s WBO welterweight title must take place in the United States. Brook is a proven draw in the United Kingdom, where boxing has become increasingly popular in recent years.

McIntyre couldn’t care less about Brook’s ability to sell tickets in his homeland. Nevertheless, taking Crawford, of Omaha, Nebraska, on a transatlantic trip to box Brook there could be lucrative for the unbeaten three-division champion.

“F*** that,” McIntyre told a group of reporters after Crawford stopped Amir Khan in the sixth round Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. “We’re the ‘A’ side. What the f*** we going over there for? No, Kell Brook can bring his ass over here. He was here tonight, right? All right, he can bring his ass over here.”

Bob Arum, Crawford’s promoter, and Eddie Hearn, Brook’s promoter, have discussed the possibility of a Crawford-Brook bout taking place later this year.

“You know, a lot of guys that we’re interested in fighting, like Kell Brook, has said that he wanted to fight Terence,” Arum told a group of reporters early Sunday morning. “And that’d be fun.”

Crawford-Brook shouldn't happen at all, cause Crawford will have another easy night. What for? Crawford needs to unify. Of course, Spence bout is the most wanted, but the most wanted bouts usually not happen. Anyway possessing more belts will likely make Spence bout more possible.

Unify with who? The other beltholders are with Haymon.

Thing is Arum and Crawford are ignoring Thurman, Porter and even Garcia now and ONLY want Spence. A fight they know will not likely happen anytime soon.

Crawford against the above 3 names are still big money fights and conmpetitive fights.

I don't begrudge Brook a retirement fight at all - he's been a good servant - and nobody wants to see Khan vs Brook on PPV.

The Truth's best win is still probably Brook in Sheffield. If his cheekbones hadn't collapsed Brook would probably have got the dec.

He COULD even beat El Tel. He's solid, bigger...

It makes no sense for Crawford to fight in the UK - Brook is a depleted WW!

Those fights won't happen either. Probably even less likely.

Has he bollox. I do not buy this narrative at all bud.

Brook has been a complete waste of a career. He has beaten nearly no one, pulled out of fights, struggled with Carson Jones, went through that whole farce thing with Devon Alexander and eventually got a "win" over Porter. Then in the most talent rich division in boxing, with names everywhere, he managed to find three no-hopers to defend his world title against. Then he sold out in a fight he would always lose to GGG, stepped back down and (someone may correct me here) fought his mandatory and lost his belt. Since then he has fought two guys nobody cares about.

Oh and in-between all of this shite, he managed to get stabbed twice and chase Amir Khan like some sort of pathetic prick with no self respect.

Good servant? Only if that is his role play when he got knifed the second time by the guy he was cottaging.

There's nothing "memorable" about Kell Brook and his career in the ring.

Yeah but that's like the old adage of if my auntie had a dick she'd be my uncle. His cheekbone collapsed because Spence was smashing his face in.

The Porter fight was one of the ugliest wins I've seen aswell. He got away with excessive holding in that fight. If you compare his fight against Porter and Thurmans, where the latter wasn't looking to hold hardly at all, it was like night and day.

Exactly. Same with the GGG fight. GGG smashed it in round 2.

Not exactly.
It shows he was. good enough to win a 10 rounder against Errol “The Truth” Spence. How many can say that ?
Khan couldn’t !

If Brook puts it all together on the night for one last time and Crawford has a bad day at the office, he has a chance. Khan was the worst 8/1 shot this year, but you’d take Brook at those odds in the UK for sure.

Fine margins and all that.

Meh, I’d watch that contest but that’s because I’d watch more or less any Crawford fight.
Kell Brook certainly has not been a ‘good servant to the game’ and whilst I’m possibly biased simply because I don’t like him, at his very best he would be the lower number in a 60-40 fight with Crawford, as it stands now it would be a question of ‘can I last longer than Khan’.

But he was behind on the scorecards when it was stopped. Also, it’s a 12 round fight. A lot of fights go the distance. It’s how you do overall on the 12 rounds.

You saying it wasn’t Spence that broke Brook’s eye socket?
