A motivated Witherspoon would present a good fight, but I'd take Michael. Just a better boxer by far.

Spinks was among the very best at the 80s. Too skillful and tricky guy. Apart from Holmes and Tyson (I scored for Holmes the rematch and Larry was past it anyway) only Holifield would win him, I believe. And maybe Douglas of the latest 80s.

A peak Witherspoon wins, maybe even by stoppage. I don't like Spinks against top class prime heavyweights in many cases.

So both in Peak condition then that spells Big Trouble for the smaller guy in Michael Spinks because Terrible Tim when motivated was one hell of a fighter with decent Power and a Boxing Brain/Acumen that was a pleasure to watch he would give Michael a boxing lesson and win with a leg in the air[Tim would piss it in] :bag: MATTER OF FACT HE BEATS LEON ALSO :TU:

Prime vs prime, Witherspoon all day long. Spinks is vastly overrated as a heavyweight. He only had 5 fights as a heavyweight and of those you can more or less discard the totally overmatched Tangstad and the coked up Cooney. You are basically left with Holmes, who was shafted in the rematch and Tyson who crushed him, leaving Spinks with one solid win in the division. That's not enough for me to pick him over the Witherspoon of the Holmes fight.

I was thinking the same thing. The legacy of Michael Spinks that he was great as a light heavyweight. At heavyweight outside of Holmes and Tyson, he didn't had enough fights to convince me that I would pick him over the Tim Witherspoon of the Holmes, first fight with Page and Tubbs fight. Witherspoon would wear Michael Spinks down with jabs and powerful overhand rights to knock or stop him at least 10 rounds.

For me Spoon would stop him in 8-10 rounds.

At heavyweight, Witherspoon in 3 rounds. Too much power in the right.
