Not me. Ruiz would get blathered worse than Hunter.

No he wouldn't.
I'd pick Ruiz all day every day over Hunter

I wouldn't. I think Hunter can outbox and out punch Ruiz.

15kg weight advantage slams the skill gap shut for me.
15kg difference is significant as you point and it could indeed be a bridge to far for Usyk but I think he has the boxing savvy to avoid the early artillery and turn the weight into a disadvantage for Joshua who is not known for his stamina.

Ruiz or Hunter would both be good options. Both would make it interesting fight. Both would loose 9 times out of 10.

I don't think that it will be Ortiz. Not enough time to cycle off.

I really hope it will not be Charr. It could be him.

I wonder if Rivas could be option?

Chisora would be decent short notice opponent. Well known and probably could sell the fight. I am not hating it.

I guess Helenius would take the fight. I hope they don't need to tip that low on the rankings.

What I mean is...how certain can they be he won't test positive again? Wilder and AJ too.

Not only could these guys lose and devalue their fights...they can easily test positive and mess it up.

Out of the realistic (seemingly) contenders.

Want - Ortiz
Accept - Ruiz
Don't want - Hunter (way too small).

I know others have put their names in the hat - Joyce, Chisora etc - but I think it will be one of the three above and that's the order I have them in terms of preference.

Joshua could fight an obese pensioner with a wooden leg and it would still be PPV

That’s what I was pretty much thinking- but the reality it’s not going to be a ppv worthy contest now ( if it ever was) maybe if they’d got Ortiz but that was never going to happen either

Can't see a lot of hardcore fans shelling out for it considering it'll be on at daft o'clock in the morning. Be interesting to see how it does numbers wise over here. As things stand they only fight I'd pay for if he was fighting in the US would be Wilder or Fury but Fury would probably be over here.

Apparently a counteroffer is expected from Hearn. So it's not over yet. Still can't get over Ortiz turning down $5 million, but this is a better fight with Ortiz.

I’m not as high as some still seem to be on Ortiz but he certainly makes for a bigger name/occasion

Not sure he makes for a better fight. I think Joshua would get him out before round 5

Who makes a better fight outside Fury or Wilder? Or even on who's available for an upcoming date?

I think Whyte, also Povetkin gave Joshua more questions than Ortiz would too. Not saying he should rematch either by the way. He won conclusively both times.

I’m not against Ortiz getting it I just think Joshua beats him easily. Then again, who doesn’t he beat easily! I include at least one of the two you mention as well.

Oh yeah, AJ wins this fight, but Whyte said no too and has taken absolutely no flack like Ortiz is. No one is mentioning that.

i give ortiz some flack because him and his ppl/fans have gone on endlessly for years about being ducked, its been his whole scthick, and so if he turns down 5m or whatever is offered on top of that he can go f@ck himself. and at least whyte is consistently fighting solid contenders and not the likes of cojanu, kauffman etc....i have more patience for him
