An interesting perspective from Boxing Squared was that Hayman is behind the decline so he can hold onto the WBC belt in the PBC family for as long as possible. (I.E. Wilder vs Ortiz). I don't know, but if Ortiz was offered anything north of $3 million, it's just plain stupid.

I always thought it was strange to give applause for someone accepting an undeserved best deal of their life. It takes cojones to be a pro fighter; accepting a career high payday and a shot at every fighters ultimate goal takes a single brain cell.

And yet the call was/is answered by so few.

So six, seven fighters get the call, get the chance to step in and step up...

How do you not applaud the guy that goes in there and actually does it?

I generally applaud undeserved gifts around Christmas for my little nephews, but not year round and certainly not for combat athletes. Just because this sport is rife with divas I don’t think it’s necessary to make a hero out of someone doing something that is literally the only reason to do that thing.

I just get riled sometimes by how entitled some fighters feel. It’s virtually unheard of in any profession to expect praise for accepting a gift of a chance to be the best in your field and a career high pay day.

If it happened frequently outside of boxing then you’d have a point, but it doesn’t. I don’t deny there are divas in boxing, but it still doesn’t necessitate applauding someone’s cajones for simply agreeing to perform the work they are paid to do.

Unless you can get paid not to do it...which seems to be endemic on the heavyweight scene.

At $25.00 I'm buying PPV's left and right here in the States. At 79.99 I'm waiting for Wilder/AJ; Spence/Crawford; Loma/Garcia (maybe); etc.
